@Akshay01shukla@Crick_logist@AmitHellboyz143 That's fine.
But saying that KKR somehow won thrice, and no one knows what to do is way off the mark.
They've usually had decent templates, but in recent years, either haven't had the right personnel and/or have failed in implementation.
@Akshay01shukla@Crick_logist@AmitHellboyz143 KKR were pretty consistent from 2011 to 2017
2 titles, 3 more playoffs, missing out 2015 by 1 point. 2013 was an aberration.
2018 retentions did not work out. Uthappa, Piyush, Lynn had to be released after 2019 and a mini reboot happened.
Been inconsistent 2022 onwards
@ovshake42 If they ever decide to rename the Ranhi and Duleep trophies, I would hope they rename them after Palwankar Baloo and Vithal.
To the best of my knowledge, these stalwarts of yesteryears haven't been honored in this manner, unlike CK Nayudu, Lala Amarnath, Merchant, Hazare, Mankad
@swaris16 This is the third this has happened to KKR vs Lucknow. That we get really close in a huge chase, but just fall short. 18th May 2022, 20th May 2023 and today.
@joybhattacharj KKR lost 69 Cr from their budget in retentions. But the actual amount being paid is just 57 Cr.
Rinku: 13
Narine,Russell,Varun: 12 each
Raman, Harshit: 4 each.
In hindsight, KKR should have used Russell's 12 Cr and the balance 12 (69-57) to try and retain Shreyas for 24.
@swaris16 I assume this to be the likely XII
Narine
De Kock/Gurbaz (wk)
Rahane
Raghuvanshi
V Iyer
Rinku
Russell
Ramandeep
Harshit
Varun
Vaibhav
Overseas fast bowler
Without Rahane the batter, we will not be able to have 8 batting options and (6+2) bowling options both.
Excellent thread.
I've personally felt that it's high time we replace the Ranji and Duleep Trophies with Baloo and Vithal Trophies.
This honor is long overdue and would at least be a symbolic gesture towards a more equitable society, if nothing else.
When people discuss India's top cricketers, they tend to emphasize modern players, largely influenced by the television era...
While figures like C.K. Nayudu, Hazare, & Merchant receive some recognition, the groundbreaking contributions of the very first great Indian cricketer are often forgotten...
Let's talk about Palwankar Baloo: The man who defied untouchability & attain invinicibility
