SAD | Kelvin Mhofu Ngoshi was a Zimbabwean based in Middleburg South Africa. Yesterday he committed su*cide live on Facebook because his girlfriend reportedly cheated on him. In the video, he didn't say a word. He just filmed himself drinking what people initially believed to be a regular Coca-Cola, but they later realized that the beverage had been laced with some form of poison. He later diβ¬d, leaving behind a young daughter.
@daddyhope The challenge in Zimbabwe is that the citizenry is not united, heavily polarized. There is also this pride, I don't understand where it emanates from. This pride is not taking the country anywhere.
@daddyhope So how did Malawians fight for electoral reforms 2019-2020?
They organized & protested. They were shot at by the police, so they organized some more & protested in bigger numbers
When the president refused to listen to their demands, they marched on State House.
It took 10 months
@daddyhope Do you see what serious people are doing ? Unlike Zimbabweans, all over the world and thinking Jesus Christ is going to remove @ZANUPF_Official from power! Your country men.. including yourself are very weak people.
From jail to State House.
The next president of Senegal, according to media reports coming out of Senegal, is likely to be 44-year-old Bassirou Diomaye Faye, an ex-political prisoner jailed by the current president.
But this victory is not coming on a silver platter for the opposition movement.
When the opposition leaders were in jail, the opposition movement took to the streets, defying the fear of the military.
When the current president attempted to postpone elections, the people took to the streets again.
Unlike Zimbabwe, a vibrant civil society and strong institutions also kept the current president and his regime in check.
Also, unlike Zimbabwe, the judiciary followed the constitution on the particular issue of the election date and attempted postponement, perhaps because the peopleβs voice on the streets was unequivocal.
You see, when citizens occupy the streets, captured officials tremble, fearing the wrath of the people if the regime falls!
If you donβt give regime officials any reason to fear abusing their power by mobilizing people onto the streets, they will follow their stomachs because there is nothing to fear!
