We may be in for less shock if we just collectively decided that you get what you pay for and any campaign who releases internals isn’t doing it because the data is honest…they’re doing it to create a narrative.

Raider Staff Sergeant Robert Van Hook ambushed a group of insurgents, then chased the survivors into their compound, killing more and taking two prisoners.

The next day, when he got word that another unit nearby was under attack from three sides, SSgt Van Hook manned a Mk-19 automatic grenade launcher on a rooftop to suppress the enemy fire. His raining grenades shifted the enemy fire onto his own position.

An RPG exploded over his head, knocking him unconscious and flipping the huge gun on top of him. When he came to, he rolled the gun upright, applied a tourniquet to his leg above a ghastly wound left by the explosion, and resumed firing.
When he could no longer feel his leg, and the overwhelming fire continued, a corpsman convinced him to leave the rooftop. SSgt Van Hook then called in medevac choppers and danger-close mortar fire to help clear the LZ.

For his heroism and boldness under fire, SSgt Van Hook was awarded the Silver Star. "Any Raider could have been switched out with me and done the same exact thing," he said. "A Raider isn't going to let anybody down: not the brothers that went before him, not the Marine beside him. He might have done it differently, but he would have gotten the job done.

Democrats in Maine have some of the most disingenuous messaging on healthcare.

The reality is: you can’t build a system that operates at a loss and then act surprised when hospitals don’t have the cash flow to pay for every service under the sun.

1. Work requirements for able-bodied adults without kids is common-sense.

The nurse down the street shouldn’t have to foot your healthcare bill.

2. Eliminate the fraud.

3. Focus on lowering private insurance premiums. They reimburse healthcare facilities at much higher rate.

Today we celebrate Navy SEAL Jason Workman's heavenly birthday. He would have been 48 years old today. Sadly, he perished along with 29 of his brothers and the beloved military working dog, Bart, in the 8.6.11 tragedy in Afghanistan. Please help me honor his life and his legacy and to make sure that he is never forgotten!

Jason Ray Workman was born on August 12, 1978, in Montrose, Colorado. When he was 6 years, old along with his parents and his three older brothers, he moved to Blanding, Utah, where his parents and one brother still remain.

He lettered in Football, Basketball, and Baseball at San Juan High School. He also earned All-State honors in Football and Baseball. He graduated from high school in May of 1997. In August of that year, he accepted a call to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Belo Horizonte Brazil Mission and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon completion of his mission, he entered college at Southern Utah University and graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice in 2003.

After graduation in 2003, he joined the Navy and reported to Naval Recruit training command in Great Lakes, Illinois. On the 22nd of October 2003, he completed basic training and reported to A-school for 3 months. On the 24th of January 2004, he entered Basic Underwater Demolition Seal (BUDS) training in Coronado, California. After 6 months of the most grueling and demanding training in the Military, he graduated with Bud’s Class 250 and immediately proceeded to advanced Seal Qualification training in March 2005. He was assigned to his first permanent duty station Seal Team 2 in Virginia Beach, Virginia from April 25, 2005, to September 17, 2008. Chief Petty Officer Workman (SEAL) began a rigorous selection and training course with Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG). Nine months after beginning his training process Chief Workman was selected to be a Naval Special Warfare Development Group Operator and reported to TACDEVRON three (Seal Team 6) where he completed numerous deployments around the world in support of the Global War on Terror. In eight short years, Jason worked his way into the ranks of the most elite warriors on earth.
