Is the crypto bull run over? (full breakdown + my thoughts on what to do now)

This is probably the worst sentiment I’ve seen since the FTX collapse in 2022.

However, this time, there isn’t a single catalyst - it’s a combination of variables that are contributing to market weakness. Let’s break them down:

Firstly, the Bear case:
• BTC OGs/whales have been selling (lots of Asian sell pressure in particular)
• ETF flows have ticked negative
• DAT narrative is exhausted, some small to mid-sized DATs have even been unwinding (slight tail risk this trend extends to some of the bigger treasury vehicles - but unlikely at this stage)
• Alts have been underperforming BTC the entire cycle, I won’t spend too much time on this as it's been spoken about relentlessly throughout the year, but a mixture of: dilution, extraction events, inflated valuations, lack of true PMF, time exhaustion etc. have resulted in severe underperformance (this is probably the #1 reason why sentiment feels dire online)
• 10/10's liquidation event did a lot of damage, I think more so psychologically than anything (even tho there is material unwinding from MMs) - because it kind of "exposed" the true liquidity of many altcoins
• Underperformance vs equities has been the nail in the coffin - a lot of “new money” is stock trading instead (look at the rise of all the stock trading influencers - this retail interest was previously in crypto but has developed distrust)

Sounds grim, and in many ways it is. However, several bullish variables remain in play that can shift sentiment at any time.

Bull case:
• $BTC is still structurally intact from an HTF perspective - other retests of the 50-DMA and 200-DMA have been buy signals for bull market resets
• There have been no true euphoria-based signals that were present in prior cycles
• QT is ending, paving the way for QE
• Business cycle still going, no clear top on equities, BTC has historically re-correlated with equities after periods of skew (both ways)
• Rates are still coming down
• Trump wants to keep pumping markets, that much is clear
• We know that all it takes for sentiment to turn on its head is a proper BTC rally

Ultimately, I think this is how you need to think of things:

The altcoin market clearly isn't what it used to be, let’s not pretend it is. But that doesn't mean there aren't opportunities to make money. There are.

It still remains the highest upside market in the world imo. No other industry rewards skill/patience/speed the way crypto does. No other industry comes with the same risks either. You can't have one without the other.

On buying:
• If you believe there'll be another big rally (definitely possible imo), only buy stuff now if you're willing to be underwater for a bit, catching a knife isn't fun (so just be prepared mentally)
• Where possible, make sure there's clear invalidation so you at least limit risk (that’s where clean HTF retest levels come into play
• If your altcoin has broken its HTF level, nothing wrong with waiting for a confirmed reclaim - paying a premium for a reclaim in these conditions may be worth it
• I'll be looking for a microstructure shift on BTC/orderbooks. This will signal when I'm more comfortable taking bigger risks (for now my risks are isolated into multi-month holds with inval)

I’m happy to add low caps into the 10% degen portion of my portfolio. In fact, many dislocations present during risk-off periods. I’m still very engaged in terms of research because there can be an insane asymmetric upside when the market reverses.

The best ROI is remaining curious, staying engaged, and not getting complacent despite conditions being tough. I can promise you one thing: There WILL be another big rally at some point. There WILL be more 10x altcoins. There WILL be another explosive narrative. It’s hard, but you just need to do whatever you can to survive and stay in the game so you’re around when the time comes.

— ซึ่งพวกนี้นักลงทุนควรมีความรู้ความเข้าใจดีในเรื่อง business models, industry landscapes, การเข้าใจในเรื่องพื้นฐานพวกนี้ช่วยให้เรา forecast trends ในอนาคต เล็งเห็น potentials ของพวกนวัตกรรม, disruption potential.. ทำ sector analysis เป็น..

— เข้าใจเรื่อง financial ของบริษัท ทำ fundamental analysis เป็น

— มีความรู้เรื่อง macro trends, economic cycles, ประเมิน management quality เป็น

— ทำ moat analysis, เข้าใจ demographic changes, รวมถึง emerging technologies, adoption cycles, consumer behavior, ทำ valuation เป็น

— ฯลฯ

เรื่องพวกนี้ไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่อะไรเลย (ผมพูดไปหลายร้อยรอบแล้วมั๊ง) หลายคนก็เคยศึกษามากันแล้วทั้งนั้นการหาการจับหุ้น growth, การใช้ CANSLIM, etc., เพียงแต่คนส่วนมากมักขายกันไปก่อน.. ขายเอากำไร หรือไม่ก็ตัดขายขาดทุนตอนเจอ drawdown ใหญ่แล้วไม่ได้เข้าไปซื้อใหม่เลยตกรถจนไม่ได้เห็นกำไรหลายพัน % หลายหมื่น % (ลองไปดู chart ย้อนหลังพวกหุ้นที่บวกหลายพัน% หลายหมื่น% ว่ามันผ่านอะไรมาบ้าง แล้วถามใจตัวเองดูดีๆ ว่าถ้าตัวเองลงทุนกับมันตั้งแต่เนิ่นๆ คิดว่าจะถือมาได้ถึงป่านนี้มั๊ย? (ผมคิดว่าพวกหุ้นพวกนี้หลายๆ คนอาจจะมีมั่งที่แบบ เฮ้ย เมื่อก่อนกูก็เคยถือนี่หว่า.. แต่ขายออกไปก่อนนานแล้ว)

ซึ่งเรื่องนี้ผมเคยยกตัวอย่างแนวทางของผมให้ฟังแล้วว่าเหตุผลที่ทำให้ผมถือได้นานเพราะผมใช้แนวทาง Buy & Hedge, และมี cash flow จากการ trade เก็งกำไรแบบ short-term, ขาย Options, ฯลฯ.. ทำให้ทนถือได้นานกว่าคนส่วนใหญ่ที่แค่ Hold ยาวเฉยๆ..

แต่สิ่งสำคัญที่อยากให้เข้าใจ… ต่อให้ไม่ได้หุ้นที่ + หลายพันหลายหมื่น % ก็ไม่สำคัญมากนะครับ พวกขายหมูที่กำไรไม่กี่เด้งก็ขายแล้ว… ก็สามารถรวยได้ กำไรมากเท่าพวกที่ถือหุ้นจนกำไรหลายหมื่น % …. เช่น….

A) ลงทุนระยะยาวด้วยเงิน 100,000 จนกำไร +72,800%

B) ลงทุนระยะยาวเหมือนกัน แต่พอ +200% ก็ขายทิ้ง แล้วไปลงทุนตัวอื่น ได้กำไรอีก 200% ก็ขายทิ้ง แล้วลงตัวใหม่วน loop มา 6 ครั้งแล้ว…

ทั้งแบบ A และ B สองอันนี้เหมือนกันอย่างนึงคือ… ผลลัพธ์คือเงิน 100,000 โตไปถึง 72,900,000 ทั้งคู่..

เพราะฉะนั้นถ้าจะขายหมูเลยไม่ได้เห็นหุ้นโตไปหลายพันหลายหมื่น % ก็ไม่เป็นไร สำคัญสุดที่ขายแล้วเรานำเงินไปลงทุนอะไรต่อ??

และแน่นอนการตัดสินใจลงทุนแต่ละครั้งใช่ว่าจะทำกำไรได้หมดทุกครั้ง ไม่ใช่ว่า 100,000 + 200% +200% + 200% + 200% + 200% + 200% = 72,900,000

ของจริงอาจจะ 100,000 + 100% -20% + 150% -30% + 200% + 50% - 35% ฯลฯ

เพราะฉะนั้นสิ่งสำคัญสุดคือการบริหารความเสี่ยงรักษาเงินทุน รักษากำไร ถ้าบริหารความเสี่ยงมีวินัยที่ดี.. เวลาและประสบการณ์ จะช่วยให้เราคว้าโอกาสที่ดีได้บ่อยขึ้น จับหุ้นบวกหลายสิบ % หลายร้อย % บ่อยขึ้น ปลายทางก็รวยได้เอง โดยที่ไม่เคยถือพวกหลายพันหลายหมื่น %
