@RiotPabro Why not just make the Arcane version a skin, and keep the Machine Herald his base form? To completely change an existing character so much feels bad.
The tweaks are an improvement, but they don’t fix all the issues. Overall the skins still lose a lot of their details and theme.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey So in both MOBA games, the champion we liked is removed. LoR is good, but it has a skeleton crew of a team working on it, and according to people that know more about its development than I do, it’s severely underfunded compared to Riot’s other projects.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey It’s a card game. A good one, but nothing like League of Legends. Think Hearthstone, but with a Runeterran theme rather than WoW.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey Viktor is getting a Path in Legends of Runeterra’s Path of Champions mode. He’s had a card for years ther, he’s just getting a Path now. The art uses his “Traditional” model, because it was released long before Arcane. Here is the art from his card and the level 2 version.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey Then why was only Viktor changed this drastically? Warwick looked massively different in Arcane, as did many of the other characters by the end of the series. I wouldn’t wish this sort of downgrade on those champions either, but it should at least be consistent.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey Why though? Why should you get everything you want, while those of us that prefer the current models get nothing?
Also those ‘facts’ are part of what we dislike. The old lore was what I liked most about Viktor. His focus was on technology rather than magic with a tech aesthetic.
@HuaChengcita@Ikleyvey Skins can change character models and animations. Admittedly, they tend to be on the more expensive end, but they absolutely do exist. The Arcane skins would allow you to get what you want and let fans of Viktor’s current design be happy too.
@SkinSpotlights I’d definitely prefer a full revert of the changes or at least a Traditional skin, but this is still an improvement. I wouldn’t say the skins look good, but they do look better than what was originally revealed.
@AidArmadillo@DevsCloud@LeagueOfLegends Have you read a Fantastic Four comic? Dr. Doom is the best thing to come from those stories.
That said, the only thing Doom and Viktor have in common is the first name (though it’s ViCtor von Doom, not ViKtor) and the metal mask. Doom is way more magic-focused than LoL Viktor.
@azerrttyuiiop @CaspianMidnight@LeagueOfLegends His R was slightly buffed, but his whole identity was deleted in the process. I’d rather they nerfed his kit and kept who he was than… this.
@LeagueOfLegends This should have been a skin, with his base form (and existing skins) left unchanged. Why did only Viktor get this treatment compared to the other Arcane characters? I mean, I wouldn’t wish it on them because this quality is really bad, but the point stands.
@Starignite7 @CultiZk @bonevoid It's genuinely funny that you used those two as an example. In the original lore, Viktor led the team that created Blitzcrank. The credit was stolen by his professor, causing Viktor to begin his own self-modifications. Viktor's professer later used his research to create Urgot.
@Dexerto As many others have said before: If the redesign was a skin, it would be fine. Good, even. Fans of arcane would appreciate it, while long-time Viktor mains would have something else to enjoy. Instead, no one is happy, and some are downright angry. Rightfully so, honestly.
in october 2021 i had such a transcendently good piece of pumpkin pie w/ a dense texture. i got obsessed with trying to recreate it every fall for the next three years. anyway, i finally nailed it. here's the recipe–pumpkin pie with orange zest and cardamom whipped cream
@skymagpie The comments seem to mostly be people saying they dislike the updated versions. I'm not sure if Riot will listen, but I hope they do. None of these look very good, and come at the cost of essentially deleting an amazing champion.
