Mr Nkabinde is the undeniable star of the day, Justice Madlanga thanking him is the only piece of actual justice we have witnessed in this entire #MadlangaCommission! We need to crowdfund a Woolies gift card for his vocal cords.
BREAKING: Attorney for Colonel Ismail Dawood tells @eNCA that his client is neither evading authorities nor is he a fugitive.
He informed @Abramjee and me that Dawood intends to surrender to law enforcement officials on Monday and will apply for bail. He contends that there is no immediate urgency to execute the J50 today, on a Friday, after the close of business and therefore after court hours.
The attorney also argued that, "because of the nature of matters investigated by Colonel Dawood, his life will be in danger every minute he is incarcerated. Suffice it to also state that Colonel Dawood denies any wrongdoing."

BREAKING NEWS:
Police are searching for Colonel Ismail Dawood.
His lawyer’s assured police he will hand himself over and he did not.
Gauteng anti corruption unit pounced on Dawood’s townhouse complex in Sandhurst JHB- he was not home.
They’ve now launched a search.
He is being wanted on a charge of extortion amounting to over R350 000.
A warrant of arrest was issued earlier.
Colonel Dawood is a senior South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence officer.
He has been arrested for extortion believed to about R350 000.
Dawood has earned a reputation for leading several high-profile kidnapping investigations and rescue operations, helping secure the release of numerous victims and arresting suspected kidnappers.
At the same time, Dawood is a controversial police officer.
Over the years, he has faced multiple allegations and investigations relating to his conduct in various operations, including claims of kidnapping, assault, torture, extortion, corruption and murder.
He has been linked to a judicial inquest into the 2010 death of Solomon “Solly” Nengwane while in police custody and has also been investigated by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) over other incidents, including a 2022 hostage rescue operation in which two women were shot.
Dawood has consistently denied all allegations against him.
More recently, Dawood and KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi were the subject of an internal SAPS disciplinary process after allegations of kidnapping, extortion and corruption were made by suspected Mozambican kidnapping kingpin Esmael Nangy.
In June 2026, the disciplinary proceedings concluded with both officers and their co-accused being found not guilty on all charges.

@pule_jones and I are on the scene.
@_FighterHabibi@D_Molatoli And then he goes, I whispered to the prosecutor, but the magistrate is close. So what was he saying the magistrate just caught wind and decided ja lemme add that for the I.O even though the prosecutor thought it wasn't something they should bring up? 🤔
@OnceNotTwyce@D_Molatoli I was like Joh WoW a whole investigator who doesn't have a sharp mind 🤦🏽♀️ he just giggles about everything as if he wasn't ruining other people's lives and careers.
I never hated a stranger so much. 😩
@rzondo I wanted to punch him in the throat everytime he smiled and laughed.
I hope he never sees peace, that people who see him in the road will scream Inexperienced Padayachee and just make his life miserable, like he did to other people.
Noone deserves to be bullied more than him.
@fionaobeng When Commissioner Khumalo said & you arrested her before that 6 months lapsed.
He laughed & said yes, as if that was something to proud of.
If he reads my tweet, I want him to know I wish his butthole aches for the rest of his life for being such a pain in other people butts.
1. The likelihood of being arrested for a crime you have yet to commit is great.
2. The subsequent charge sheet could be free-styled.
3. The side hustle of senior corruption investigators may just be proof-reading job ads from other agencies.
