Oh, this is rich. This is the kind of logic that makes you wonder if they teach satire in Nigerian law schools. So let me get this straight, South Africa should pay compensation for looting that didn't happen because our protests have been peaceful. But Nigeria, a country where the government cannot even provide electricity, roads, or healthcare, is now going to "appropriate" the profits of South African companies? The same companies that have invested billions, created thousands of jobs, and paid billions in taxes to the Nigerian government? What are they doing with the tax money? Why isnโt Nigeria asking ? The same MTN that has built telecom infrastructure across your country while your own government sat on its hands? You want to seize their funds? That would be a fantastic way to ensure that no foreign investor ever sets foot in Nigeria again. I mean, who would want to invest in a country where the government can just wake up one morning and decide to nationalise your business because they're feeling a bit spicy about the truth of their incompetence?
But wait, there's more. You think seizing the profits of South African companies will compensate affected Nigerians? Affected by what? The looting that didn't happen? The violence that didn't happen? The xenophobic attacks that didn't happen? You are crying over a narrative that exists only in your heads. If you want to compensate anyone, start with the Nigerian people. Compensate them for the 40% poverty rate. Compensate them for the collapsed healthcare system. Compensate them for the education system that produces graduates who cannot find jobs. Compensate them for the Boko Haram insurgency, the banditry, the kidnappings. But no you want to go after South African companies because it's easier to blame us than to look at the mirror. The irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Nigeria is a country that cannot even manage its own resources, and now they want to manage South African businesses? Good luck with that. We'll just take our investment elsewhere. Go ahead, seize the funds. But don't come crying to us when your economy crumbles. We warned you. ๐ฟ๐ฆโ๐พ
South Africa is the only country in the world where active genocide and Xenophobic attacks are happening.
But victims don't want to leave.
Amazing!!!!!!!!
Estate agents in SA are coining it with โcredit check feesโ. Every single rental application, another charge, even though the National Credit Act gives applicants one free credit report per bureau every year, they wonโt accept it. In the Western Capeโs brutal rental market, where average rent is now over R11k and far above the national average, just looking for a home can drain your wallet. This practice needs scrutiny. Something has to give. @NCRegulator@OmbudCouncil@The_PPRA
