You are right Gunther - The government should not be able to confiscate a property for not paying property tax.

The government should not be able to foreclose on a home and paid the value of the house for not paying property tax especially when someone has already paid off the mortgage. The government wins when a $300K house is foreclosed when there are only $10K taxes due that cannot be paid.

In fact, no one over 65 should have to pay property tax at all - They don't have children in school any longer - They have already paid their 'fair share' -

Many Americans who are on SS can barely afford groceries and medicine much less property taxes.
