Sweet fuck nuts, if my first expose to Trek was Enterprise I'd just assume the franchise was about incompetent idiots. In a battle of wits the crew of the NX-01 would be defeated by The Boys from the Dwarf without much of an issue.
I'm REALLY trying to enjoy Star Trek Enterprise, but Jesus Fuck it doesn't do itself any favours. Half way through 02.05 A Night in Sickbay. I don't give a shit about the dog, and the manufactured Archer / T'pol "attraction" is making my cringe. Awful. Just awful.
I didn't get into ST:Voy at the time, but I rewatched it recently and really loved it. Thought I'd rewatch Enterprise to give it another chance. Just starting S2 and it's still terrible. I think a lot of it has to do with my utter hatred of Malcolm. Just let the fucker die!
Listened to the first episode of The Paternoster Gang: Heritage 1 from @bigfinish today. It was so much fun, and the cast sounded like they were having a whale of a time making it. It makes me mourn the TV series that we never had.
Thank you @ourfakehistory for putting me on to @unspooled and @TheAmyNicholson! I needed a clever movie podcast to listen to while I cleaned the oven and now it's demanding to be binged.
Another great analysis and breakdown from the @cine_verse folks, this time on #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 . Whenever a new superhero film comes out I always wonder what they're going to think about it. Well worth the @Patreon money.
I've got a leg of lamb cooking, I've listened to a Ninth Doctor audio adventure from @bigfinish and now I'm playing #LegendOfZeldaTearsOfTheKingdom. It's not shaping up to be a bad day so far.
Ploughed through the 4 Dark Eyes box sets from @bigfinish a week or so ago and it was fantastic. A brilliant collection of stories. Followed it up with Doom Coalition and the first couple of volumes of the Ninth Doctor Adventures.
As of today I have been sober for 60 days. Temptation was strong this week as I had to attend the funeral of a friend of mine. If someone had stuck a whisky in front of me I'd have cheerfully necked it. I didn't risk going to the wake, though!
Rewatching Thor Love and Thunder. When I watched it at the cinema I thought it was a pretty bad movie. I'm 15 minutes in and need to reevaluate my opinion. It's a fucking awful movie. Really bad. Really Really so so SO bad.
A friend of mine killed herself a couple of days ago. We would message each other every day. I'd send her photos of the food I was making and tell her funny stories. Today something happened and my first instinct was to let her know because it was funny.
I'm certain there's a reason I agreed to a weekend away in Edinburgh in fucking March, in the fucking cold and the fucking snow, but right now I can't remember what that fucking reason was!
