Final tally 21 Gold 27 Silver 37 Bronze. Need to convert more to Gold but this is still better than languishing at the 10th position a week ago. Fourth in the medals tally. Congratulations Team India.

*_Five Generations, One Regiment: The Ahlawat Family Creates Military History_*
In a historic milestone in India’s military heritage, the Ahlawat family has set a remarkable record: five consecutive generations serving as officers in the prestigious 1 Horse (Skinner’s Horse), one of the Indian Army’s oldest and most renowned Cavalry Regiments, established on February 23, 1803.
The family’s bond with Skinner’s Horse began with Lt Sheochand Ahlawat (1886–1918), who distinguished himself in Afghanistan, participated in the Boxer Rebellion in China, and fought valiantly in the First World War. His legacy was continued by his son, Capt Daryao Singh Ahlawat (1918–1948), a distinguished veteran of the Second World War.
The third generation, Lt Col Shamsher Singh Ahlawat (1955–1982), played a pivotal role in the Liberation of Goa and the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971, where he sustained serious injuries. The tradition was upheld by the fourth generation, Col Sandeep Ahlawat (1993–2026), who served during the Kargil conflict and in counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast, eventually commanding Skinner’s Horse.
Now, the legacy enters its fifth generation. Lieutenant Shivam Ahlawat was commissioned into the 1 Horse (Skinner’s Horse) on September 5, 2026, reaffirming a military heritage that spans 140 years.
Five generations. One regiment. 140 years of unwavering service. An unbroken legacy of excellence.
