@bradleywthomas@U_arctos I’m sorry, but there is just not a world where these incidents are not highlighted because they are absolutely horrific and 100% preventable. Showing up every time something like this happens to tell everyone that more people die because of cars does is not a real world solution
@bradleywthomas@U_arctos I sadly agree. Perception is definitely not reality. Just do not want to cast these type of incidents aside because of how statistically safe the type of transit is.
@U_arctos@bradleywthomas Brad cited a correct statistic but it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that public transportation is blighted with easily preventable crime that impacts riders far more frequently than it should.
@bradleywthomas@U_arctos Brad, you know using this statistic is in bad faith. No one is saying public transportation is statistically unsafe. I think you should have the right to never have to worry about getting murdered on public transport ever, in any state or city.
@Budgetdog_ Let’s place a bet. This is horrible advice for 99% of people! 2023 has been a terrible buyers market; it is literally cheaper to rent in every major city in the United States.
2024 will see rates AND prices fall. Not basic economics.
@MattVincenziPGA Not only is that a major IF, it is something that is maybe 2 to 3 years out? By then the damage will be irreversible and the PIF would have to subsidize the entire tour. Tournaments are already balking at $ commitments and TV deals would be obsolete.
