And, spotting a falling star was the pinnacle of magic, pinning our hopes, dreams & wishes on this piece of space flotsam & jetsam! Sing along with us...🎶"Macho, macho man...I've got to be a macho PLANT!"🎶 That's right, we've got a Macho Fern for #FoliageFriday!🌿 The Macho Fern (Nephrolepis biserrata) is a massive, vigorous tropical plant known for its bold, bright green, arching fronds that can grow 3 to 4 feet long (or up to 6 feet in optimal conditions)! Often described as a "Boston Fern on steroids," it makes a dramatic statement on shady porches, patios, or as a large indoor floor plant. And, we offer thanks to the Village People for their inspiration on this "MACHO HOT" Friday!

Now, after 46 years in the radio business, he continues to write, voice & produce audio goodness from the comfort of his home studio...with the managerial oversight provided by his beloved #ProductionPups! With the Labor Day Weekend fast approaching, we can expect some neighborhood fireworks. However, no need to wait! We have a glorious Firecracker Plant (Russelia equisetiformis), a weeping, tropical subshrub native to Mexico & Guatemala. It features bright red, tubular flowers that look like tiny firecrackers. It blooms from spring through fall, grows two to four feet tall, and attracts hummingbirds with its nectar, to celebrate this #FoliageFriday!🌿

Those of "newer" generations hear DJ & probably picture a guy at the club or party... without ever knowing the MEANING behind those two little letters! Back in the day, there were no satellite feeds, no CDs, just a big stack of vinyl records & the ubiquitous "cart rack." Those vinyl "discs" were spun by Disc Jockeys who kept the music & entertainment flowing. And, The Skinny Rocker was among those classic DJs, getting the moniker "Junior Jock" during his first years in the radio biz... and the nickname stuck! Today, JJ may play digitally remastered CDs, stream satellite shows & MC live musical performances, but he owes it all to those humble discs celebrated on #VinylRecordDay!

For ANY child, some days carry big feelings for a little person, and for those times a teddy bear or favorite blankie can make everything better! THAT'S the idea behind Project Linus. Caring volunteers, hand making blankets, creating a piece of love & comfort for children facing the worst days of their young lives. Looking back on their decades together, we can attest that the joy we can see here – in their early days together – endures to this day!
