Here’s the Truth:

With the 28 roster limit, 5 years of eligibility, NIL money, internationals, and the transfer portal……

….it is becoming extremely difficult to make a D1 roster if you don’t play ECNL or MLS Next.

The D1 roster spots will be even more limited for true freshman out of high school with the 5 for 5 rule that those two leagues will dominate the college recruiting process even MORE.

Recruits, you better be in those leagues or have a really good club coach that can help.

@ImCollegeSoccer Yep, that's the pathways my kids are on. Daughter has been ECNL and son is now MLS Next as of last month. Still no guarantees, lots of hard work ahead of them.
