@jhern87@MoMohler Your initial post was that bigger, faster, stronger and more athletic players would dominate. All of those listed would fit that bill and they've had varying success.
@jhern87@MoMohler Generally, yes. But not for the reasons you listed.
We've had huge men like Lukaku, Adriano, Micah Richards and Altidore. Even Bolt tried his hand professionally and couldn't make it. Nobody will get by alone on those attributes. Arguably they'd even hinder you more often.
@jhern87@MoMohler It has a larger talent pool than any other sport has to choose from already. Plenty play with the attributes listed, but few dominate through physical strengths alone.
@rosssheehan92@ScotlandSky It's lacking up front, granted. But he's got better resources than his predecessors and more favourable qualifying conditions.
Not expecting much - but joking about his failures like that is weird.
@kenny37338791@ScotlandSky Yet you feel the need to reply to me twice. ๐
He only got Scotland to tournaments because they've been expanded. The man is an absolute dinosaur.
@renownedrankine@RPMComo Only because he feels it's safe and fashionable enough to bash FIFA. Aston Villa just increased season tickets to record highs and I doubt he'll say anything.
And he's right btw. But, like the OP says, it's the bloated wages of players that cause it.
@m_jivetoaster@power_ray Best 3rd place rankings are not a good thing and are a sign of poor tournament planning IMO. It ranks teams based on how they fared against different teams of varying quality.
Same as the current UCL format. It's a league with entirely different sets of fixtures for each team.
@kwr66@JabroniTV It only takes into account the top division from each nation, so it's going to skew the stats. It puts us at one team per 450K people vs England having one per 3M people.
It'd be impossible for most countries to even come close. It's only comparing us to similar sized nations.
@Jane32758857779@h33ndawg@adje__@Galaxy123124 If Britain brought in the death penalty - which I didn't even advocate for in the original post btw - I can assure you that there'd be lengthy appeals processes to provide evidence. People spend decades on death row in the US.
Again, not relevant to my initial point.
@sharronlb102 Being from Stoke doesn't mean that you have to stay poor and have no ambition forever. Such a defeatist, woe is me outlook on life. Get a grip.
It's not a lot of money.
