@zenahitz I think that these connections between theoretical concepts and things we know intuitively (you can run to the place a baseball will land without knowing the range equation) is important for developing quantitative problem solving skills that are still useful for non scientists
@zenahitz To me this is where quantitative science classes can be helpful. You can take abstract concepts from a math class and apply them to things students understand more intuitively, like predicting the range of a projectile or stopping distance of a car.
First of a few papers from my postdoc to hit the press. Big thanks to @michaeltmarty and the rest of the Marty Lab for helping to get it over the finish line!
New paper from the group describing UniChromCD for time-resolved CD-MS data, especially with fancy demultiplexing strategies! Great work @SkipSand714 and team!

As always, the software is open-source and free
In case you missed the first one, here we show how Hadamard multiplexing is used to couple size exclusion chromatography with CD-MD without spending all day doing repeated injections. If you want to try it yourself hit us up! https://t.co/B25nBf3Dh7
The second paper from my postdoc is now up! With help from our friends @BrodSquadUT we used both Hadamard and Fourier transform multiplexing to Integrate front end separations with charge detection mass spectrometry and built a new UniDec module to handle the data processing.
New preprint from the group describing our new UniChromCD software for time-domain CD-MS analysis and demultiplexing: https://t.co/PxiIRGKN4N
Congrats to @SkipSand714 and the rest of the team!
Also, the next version of UniDec is ready for testing: https://t.co/w6e4Z8Pf5M

If anyone is curious about the place I'm moving to in a few days, this article will give you a little taste of Silver City and the Gila Wilderness. Let me know if you come for a visit, I know where all the good hot springs are! https://t.co/BpPTuyaEHv
Finally excited to share our recent paper in @an_chem using mutant cycles and native MS to study lipid binding: https://t.co/KtrCECa9gc
Congrats to Hiruni, Farhana, and Megan on their hard work! Looking forward to seeing what's coming next!
If you're still at #ASMS2024 this afternoon and interested in combining chromatography with charge detection mass spectrometry come check out my talk in ThOE pm at 3:30.
New preprint from @SkipSand714 using multiplexed Hadamard transforms injections to interface SEC with CD-MS! He'll be talking more about it at #ASMS2024 (ThOE) and our undergrad, October, will be talking about masked multiplexing with HT-SEC-CD-MS on MOE:

Congratulations Dr. Jenny Brodbelt on receiving the Distinguished Contribution in MS award at #ASMS2024 ! We loved learning about the history of UVPD and are proud to be members of the BrodSquad 💫💜
Try out the latest version of UniDec, a beta of 7.0.0: https://t.co/N7zQbl8G2c
The most substantial new feature is a time-resolved UCD for CD-MS data. It's loaded with features for doing some cool multiplexed analysis (more at #ASMS2024). Lots of other useful fixes too
@Popher Bring back the LTQ! It's perfect for teaching labs: it can do a lot of different experiments while being simple and robust and easy to clean and repair.
@GarciaLabMS Tycho is a Sonoran Shepard/Arizona Fence Jumper mix. He was on Team Oil Change last year but he's been practicing his environmental sampling skills and thinks he's ready for a promotion
