@thomaschattwill Prosecutorial discretion is the most important factor to understand what the actual rule is. I agree with your sentiment but it’s not the current game.
Tom Steyer keeps running around saying that it’s unfair that billionaires like him can buy our democracy, then spending hundreds of millions dollars to do just that, then failing to get elected, and then repeating all the same lines the next time around. It’s extremely funny.
@LawyerDave1@AliceFromQueens@jimgeraghty Or at least he could have been a better Governor but that would be a much larger variance in opinion than my claim about character.
@LawyerDave1@AliceFromQueens@jimgeraghty If it wasn’t your best friend’s wife who also happened to work for you, I would agree. It’s not disqualifying in current political climate, but does show very poor character.
I thought Tesla Full Self-Driving would make my commute easier.
I did not expect it to expose me as the problem.
Turns out I was not “driving defensively.”
I was conducting a one-man municipal audit of every idiot within 300 yards.
Someone going 40 in a 25?
I had notes.
Someone taking too long at a green light?
I had a full theory of civilizational decline.
Now the car drives and I just sit there like a reformed man.
No high blood pressure.
No death grip on the wheel.
No courtroom monologue about lane discipline.
My wife noticed immediately.
She said, “You’re way more chill in the car, I like this!”
That is when I realized Tesla didn’t just make the car drive itself.
It made me stop narrating the collapse of society from the driver’s seat.
The psychological immune system of people on the left to the idea that their side did something wrong over the last 15 years is astounding. It requires turning cancel culture cases into caricatures that everyone had it coming (as long as you rewrite the facts of what actually happened). And of course they have to jump to the straw man argument that anyone saying cancel culture is real saying what they like Donald Trump.
Buddy, I've been fighting Trump for a year and a half now since before he was actually re-elected. It is possible to believe in a world in which the very powerful Victorian left and the populist right are pretty terrible on tolerance for opinions they dislike.
"You know last year I watched a final where Carlos Alcaraz saved three match points and he said that he never stopped believing and today, when I was down 5-3 in the 5 set, I never stopped believing, and that's thanks to you."
17 year old Moise Kouame 🥺🥹
met a guy who brought Sun Ra to LA to play - Ra was at his house for a week and each day would dress up in his full regalia (including headdress) and disappear in the middle of the day for hours. Finally he asked Ra where he'd been?
