One week ago today, I started building this game, solo. Here's what's done:
1. Fun, easy-to-play shooter. Runs instantly in your browser on desktop & mobile, no download.
2. Campaign with 2 levels, multiple difficulties, and a voiced narrator (VEGA).
3. Online multiplayer.
4. 5 guns + 2 grenades.
5. Limited-edition serial-numbered gun.
6. In-game, on-chain marketplace.
7. Custom $SKIRM token with locked liquidity.
8. Fully procedural, art and audio generated in code, so it stays tiny and runs on almost any device.
@middaywake First 10 players to complete the campaign at @SkirmishFPS get a limited edition weapon. Can resell in a Kintara style marketplace. I think Kintara got it right. Assets stay in the game and can trade them for crypto.
What exactly did they learn from Base and how is this chain going to be any different? How is this EVM chain going to be any different that the hundreds that already exist and no one uses.
Yes Robinhood has users, and now their only option is to use a crunmy, fragmented chain, no one would actually choose to use if Robinhood couldn't push people there.
What will you do when you need to run multiple postelgres versions on same machine? Doubt I'll ever need but I'd just install that version of Postgres. Nothing says I can't have 2 versions of Postgres on the same machine.
How about multiple instances of some other service? I do this easily, just run on another port.
How will you isolate the ports? I don't need to isolate them. If i want port 8080 I point to it. If I want 8081 I'll point to it.
Will you just keep increasing the port number like 6000, 6001, 6002? Yes
What about migration? What about it?
Lets say you want to move to some other server, how do you move all your stack like redis, postgres and god. I've done this before. Wasn't very difficult, took maybe 2 hours. Simply make a backup and restore the backup on the new server.
A must? I'm running 4 websites on my server, all cleanly managed with PM2 and nginx. Ive not once thought Docker would help with anything.
I've used Docker and K8 for work, so I have some idea what they do. They were a major pain to work with and I haven't seen a benefit in real life.
@KupsCity@solana what am I supposed to do here? No instructions. I move at a snail's pace with the arrow keys to the zombies then they killed me. Should make it clear what to do. Needs a lot of work.
This is where all the $SKIRM is. Total supply 1 billion.
Locked Liquidity Pool: 200M initial $SKIRM https://t.co/65Q7kBqMYN
Cold Wallet: 780M $SKIRM https://t.co/5TcARdkMKs
Hot Wallet: 20M $SKIRM https://t.co/FViT3VY1Gj
No one claimed the airdrop. I've cancelled the airdrop. 20% of SKIRM is in a locked liquidity pool, 20% is allocated towards development, 60% is undecided, but will be used to benefit $SKIRM holds and players. Perhaps an airdrop to players, in-game rewards or burnt.
I reached out to over 20 people eligible for this airdrop. No one has claimed it. If no one claims this weekend I'm ending the airdrop. I will prioritize $SKIRM holders and players.
