My thought for the day: a sandwich has to be oriented vertically. A hamburger is a sandwich. A hot dog is NOT a sandwich. A po-boy? Sandwich. I'm gonna say an Italian beef is NOT a sandwich
I assume the track is a little weird after all the rain yesterday but three of the 11 2YO colt pacers broke in the top level KYSS race this morning and now five of the 11 trotters this afternoon, which seems exorbitant.
The constantly negative news channels are the Bible of the fearful. Too many worship them. Instead invest in faith, love and hope. God’s plan and love is greater than all the evil in the world. Trust in God and anxiety goes away.
I'm going to go sideways with this-- I LOVE how the costume designer for the Favo(u)rite movie (about Queen Anne)recreated turn of the 18th century silhouettes with a modern aesthetic.

Thought for the morning.
Most Americans admire upward mobility and want more of it, but if we measure it in relative terms ("ranking" rather than absolute material comfort), somebody always goes down when another goes up.
The vast majority of people are far better off than 50 years ago in absolute terms, but cannot be in relative terms. That is a source of immense frustration and anxiety. The people who decline in their ranking are frustrated, and the people who have risen are constantly anxious that their children will be passed by the next striver.
Having been fortunate, I spent years anxious that my kids would be less successful than I had been. It was a fool's errand, because they have grown up into thoughtful, generous, and moral people who are doing just fine even so. I have been smart enough, but only in recent years, to realize that I could not have hoped for any better result.
That frustration over a lower ranking and anxiety over fear that one's family will decline in the next generation is, of course, political toxic stew. It leads to unqualified nativism in some people, and the desire to confiscate wealth in others, among other baleful attitudes.
But that does not change the fact that the overwhelming majority of Americans are *much* better off materially than they would have been at the same ranking or even a lower one as recently as 50 years ago.
One path to some emotional peace is to engage your parents and grandparents in conversations about how they lived back in the day. It will turn out to have been quite a bit more difficult than you have probably imagined. You might gain some perspective, and realize you don't have it so bad. Even if it does not change how you think about "inequality," you will probably find it very satisfying to have reflective conversations with the older generation in your family. In some families that might be too painful to do, and I'm sorry if that is true for you, but it is very much worth the effort if it is possible.
Carry on.
One of my many favorite bites in Milwaukee is just four bucks and comes served in a styrofoam cup. The ‘Frijoles Charros ATM’ at Lonchera El Tapatío Taco Truck is a classic blend of Mexican cowboy beans (pintos, jalapeño, onion, tomato, bacon) topped with steak, queso, avocado.
