I had the honor of remembering the victims and their families at the Living Memorial Plaza in Jerusalem, the only memorial outside of New York City that has engraved each victim‘s name on its wall. I read the beautiful poem The Names by Billy Collins. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

@archon I completely agree. I was in Canada during the attack and I flew back the first day flights resumed. It was a surreal experience. It was clear at that time that the old America was gone.

It is hard to reckon with it being the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Sometimes I think that Y2K and 90s nostalgia is really just nostalgia for the America that existed before 9/11, because so much changed afterwards.
