George (the guy behind OSP) is doing a great job shedding light on overlooked classics
Way too often we focus on the obvious: Tolkien, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Dumas, etc. But there’s a whole universe of forgotten classics out waiting to be rediscovered.
This is one of them 👇
We have a fabulous set of classics in graphic novel format. These are a great, fun way to introduce children to these stories of romance and adventure and spark their interest in these novel.

I just learned about this book, and walking through the first few chapters, it's been incredibly helpful. I can't believe I never see people discussing this. #AncientGreek
@rensch95874@kevinpalbrecht I would love to hear more if you remember anything specific. I'm digging into Sophocles right now, and that would be perfect for what I'm looking for.
@___weak_weak_@GreeneMan6 You specifically stated marriage was not a gift to the heathen, and now you are moving the goal posts by talking about mixed marriages between Christians and Muslims.
@___weak_weak_@GreeneMan6 David was a man after God's own heart who sinned grievously. And yes, marriage was given to Adam (Hebrew word for Man) and Eve. Are you arguing that non-Christians shouldn't get married?
@___weak_weak_@GreeneMan6 Of course heathen marriages are a gift from God. All marriage between lawful participants is a gift. Marriage was given to mankind, not only to Christians.
We live in a world full of study Bibles. I praise God for the abundance of tools to help us know God’s Word.
I’m also very excited about this new study Bible.
This is a tool I could have used over twenty years ago when I started taking Greek as an undergraduate. It is not only a Greek Reader’s Edition but the notes include syntactical explanations and much more.
@Pv@romanhelmetguy Not the OP, but a conservative homeschool dad. Fitzgerald is excellent as poetry, but he's not as close to the Greek. Fagles is ok for reading, but very close to Greek. Lattimore is also very good. My son read Fitzgerald, and we still walk around the house quoting it.
The recent conversation about the value of the Loeb editions not only ignores the scholarship of those volumes, but also nearly everything we've learned about second language acquisition.
