Ganesha is not made of Plaster of Paris. You cannot insult a stone. The real insult is to your own consciousness. Man is the only animal who is absurd. He prays to the river, then poisons it. He worships the idol, then drowns it in filth. This is schizophrenia. The true temple is the river, the air, the earth. You spend 11 days in celebration, but where is the meditation? Where is the silence? The DJ and the alcohol are your escapes. The idol is just a toy. If you want to respect Ganesha, respect existence. Clean the river, not just the statue. That would be true prayer.

When an idol made of Plaster of Paris and toxic chemical dyes is dumped into a river, it is not an act of faith; it is an environmental tort. The Supreme Court and the NGT have laid down clear guidelines mandating eco-friendly clay idols and designated immersion sites. The "absurdity" is not the ritual itself, but the willful disregard of the law that protects the very water we call sacred.

Let us be brutally honest. The top comment is not an insult to Ganesha; it is a mirror held up to a society that has lost its way. The law is no respecter of religious sentiments when they become a public nuisance. If you spend lakhs on an idol, drink alcohol, dance to loud DJs, and then treat the river as a garbage dump, you are not practicing religion—you are committing a public wrong. The "Polluter Pays" principle must apply with full force to pandals, municipalities, and individuals alike. The real insult is not the immersion; it is the sheer hypocrisy of poisoning the environment in the name of God. Enforce the law, or stop pretending we are a civilized society.

Wow. Going to one of India’s premier colleges and once again branding a young, questioning generation as “Dimagi Naxals” has got to be among the most shameful things a Prime Minister can do. And on Teacher’s Day.

He could have spoken about why SRCC’s own teachers have had to protest over denial of medical and childcare leave. He could have promised SRCC’s students better infrastructure that’s crumbling. He could have acknowledged the crushing pressure of hyper-competition they face.

He could have also spoken about nearly 1 lakh schools shutting down in a decade. About 9 crore young Indians trapped without any jobs, any education and any training. About 73% of school students dropping out before completing higher secondary education. He could even have answered for his own government SLASHING education budget by HALF in last 12 years!

But he chose none of it.

Instead, the Prime Minister used Teacher’s Day to deliver yet another political lecture DEMONISING an entire generation of young Indians for committing one unforgivable act in his eyes: questioning those in power.

A Prime Minister should give the young hope, not such stupid labels. He should answer their questions, not vilify them for asking.

What a pathetic state of affairs.

Informing an individual's family during interrogation or detention is a legal mandate, not an optional courtesy.

​Yesterday, I was taken for interrogation after my morning walk under the assurance that it would take very little time. However, as the hours stretched on, my repeated requests to inform my wife of my whereabouts ,the concerned Police Officials/Officer simply stated they were "following instructions."

​I was only permitted to make a call at 6:38 PM, leaving my family & friends in total panic the entire day.

I request that you issue clear instructions to all units directing officers to strictly uphold the legal duty of immediately informing the family of any person taken for interrogation , so that no citizen’s family has to endure the distress that mine suffered.

The entry for August 20, 1944 in Jawaharlal Nehru's Prison Diary read: "Indu had baby boy this morning 8 a.m. Both doing well. So I become a grandfather."

In the confines of his prison cell, Jawaharlal spent considerable time planning a name for his grandon. For suggestions he turned to his fellow prison inmates. Acharya Narendra Dev, with his expertise in Sanskrit and the Maulana with his wide knowledge of Persian.

The name that Jawaharlal personally favoured was Priyadarshi Birjees, the latter being an old Persian name for Jupiter the planet, suggested by Maulana Azad, Nehru, however, feared that it might become corrupted and Sanskritised into Brajesh.

Ultimately the name Rajiv Ratna was accepted - Rajiv being a synonym of Kamla (lotus) and Ratna for Jawahar (jewel). The possessive grandfather confessed that he would be rather pleased if the family name Nehru was added. But he realised that the full name Rajiv Ratna Birjees Nehru Gandhi, would be too long and pompous" and so he finally surrendered to Indira and Feroze on the matter of the name - RAJIV...

The lady holding a photo is Mandodari Nayak, wife of Great Raghu Nayak who had jumped upon and caught Nathuram Godse after he fired bullets on Mahatma Gandhi ji in Birla house on 30th Jan 1948. He was working there as a gardener. Mr Pyarelal, personal secretary of Gandhiji has written about him in his book " Mahtma Gandhi ,The Last Phase". Former president of India Dr.Rajendra Prasad had awarded him in 2952. He came back to his native village in 1967 after his retirement and died in 1983.The forgotten Hero Raghu Nayak is from my native area. We are proud of him.A statue of him was built by the villagers in 2005 which inspires us to fight against forces who praise and try to glorify Godse ,the 1st terrorist of indipendent India @Ashok_Kashmir
