Wow - what an unbelievable season!
Think its fair to say that the ‘Sky Strategy’ experiment was a resounding success:
💥 A top 50 overall rank
🥇 No.1 in Wales 🏴
💪🏻 A couple of big mini-league wins
#FPL
@FPL__Raptor Pure politics this. Easy to promise a “BID” to get votes when there’s zero guarantee it would get accepted.
Just playing the same game as the other candidate, only without the Haaland name check
@soundofdamusker@LetsTalk_FPL In isolation, Im still of the opinion that Barca have taken advantage of some financial volatility at Newcastle.
In a wider sense, I guess it at least enables them to have more bargaining power around the likes of Tonali & anyone else who may want out.
@soundofdamusker@LetsTalk_FPL For the record though, I think its a crap deal for Newcastle either way given he was being touted as a £80-£100m player not so long ago.
£60m the absolute minimum you should be getting in this market for a winger of his age, profile, & with 4 years left on his current contract.
@soundofdamusker@LetsTalk_FPL Yes, I agree. €80m is the total package.
However, If you read my initial post, you’ll see I was talking about the base (fixed) fee, as thats the only part thats initially guaranteed. Thanks 👍🏻
@soundofdamusker@LetsTalk_FPL €80m euros is the total package - €70m fixed plus bonuses (not guaranteed), so £69.2m is the maximum Newcastle will get for the deal, minus the 15% of profit they owe to Everton on their sell-on clause (£4m approx)
Some of that £4m will be recouped if/when Barca sell him on 👍🏻
@ChampMedia1980@LetsTalk_FPL FYI - Everton also set to pocket 15% of the profit on sale, so approx £3.6-4.3m depending on whether Gordon achieved all of his performance related bonuses following his move to Newcastle.
🚨💣 BREAKING: Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, here we go! Official bid accepted now by Newcastle board and Saudi owners.
€70m fixed fee plus add-ons to bring final package over €80m for #NUFC.
Gordon set to travel this week for medical and contract signing at FCB. 🔵🔴✈️
@LetsTalk_FPL Oh, agreed.
Feel for Rashy as (social media posts aside) he’s got his head down & done relatively well for them, but Barca have played a blinder here in exploiting the system & the financial frailty of other clubs.
Wasnt that long ago Gordon was being valued at £80-£100m
@lateriser12 Big fan of Scott & Fernandes given their ages, but need a better profile of more defensively minded player than Baleba imo. Really not sure where the idea of press resistant & involvement in build up play comes from in this article given he averages less than 30 passes a game 🤔
@FPLFocal Gudmundsson & Bijol doubts for 32 & if carrying anything might be an issue in the double.
So Justin by default of those options, albeit he takes some sets too so not the worst pick anyway.

I see the FPL cartel debate is alive and kicking again. Can we just copy and paste all the nonsense from last time and save everyone the hassle? It’s good to recycle…♻️
@allaboutfpl@lateriser12 A benefit of being the undeniable talisman of his team.
Thiago has scored the goals, but he’s having to compete with Teammates all across the pitch for bonus - Kelleher, Collins, Kayode, Dango, Schade etc.
Other than Summerville recently, Bowen has had no such competition.
@ArwynVobe@FPL__Raptor@FPL_Harry The open play stat sounds good tbf, but the increase in goals from set-plays across the PL as a whole has been well publicised & therefore cannot be discounted.
Agree on Fulham being the litmus test, as thats the sort of team we’ve struggled to break down in recent years.
@FPL__Raptor@FPL_Harry As a Utd fan the mood is positive right now, but investment in a defence with only 3 PL clean sheets is some next level optimism
@ipredictapayet Whether its to be Ole, Carrick, RvN…..it serves a purpose for INEOS.
The fans & media will get onside as its a former player “who knows the DNA”, & they wont have the likes of G-Nev going in strongly on their mates.
Its an easy win for them, buys them time & nothing more imo.
@ipredictapayet “You all”? - please don’t tarnish all Utd fans with the same brush as some of us are quite capable of seeing the wood from the trees 😉
Ole would be a major step backwards. Half the players there now are the very same that got him sacked.
Its just another feel-good appointment!
