@SStapczynski Thankfully Andrew Forrest FSRU/LNG carrier that was meant for Pt Kembla is helping Egypt. Wonder if the Australian tax payers paid for that charter which is now being sub-leased?
@AlexSundich Woke Australians want to skip the transition to net zero and just jump straight to net zero.
Politicians need to make some hard decisions and get projects moving or jobs will be lost just like Qenos.
Who shuts down next Orica Kooragang?
That's 15% of NSW gas needs right there
@steve_ross65@LilyDAmbrosioMP@MadeleineMHKing NSW doesn't expect blame thank you. We prefer blackouts then burning fossil fuels. It definitely makes us feel better. NSW "The first state" (To go net zero by just giving up on electricity)
@saulkavonic East coast needs competitive gas prices.
That starts with new feedstock.
Until then we will see manufacturers and jobs depart.
Intervention is needed to stop these job losses.
@south_auck@BLSHigh That's a fair call. They don't get them all right. Albemarle is a great example.
But you have 2 of them doing it while they are also buying up gas companies.
@peterjameswills Do some research on gas cargoes worldwide.
Australia = Sell onshore $12Gj Cap.
Literally buying gas higher than you can sell it on the east coast.
Pt Kembla has no contracts signed. One of the major contracts would have been to supply the power station.
@peterjameswills Wait and see what happens with the Woodside Santos merger.
I'd take a guess that's the reason Narrabri FID pushed 2025.
Importing gas is too volatile at the moment.
Albos $12Gj cap stuffed import terminals Pt Kembla and Newc spot prices are higher than they can sell onshore now
