Tremendous thank you to the best police department in the world, the NYPD, and all law enforcement partners + relevant agencies that did a phenomenal job ensuring a safe Israel Day on 5th parade.
Commissioner Tisch honored and lived up to her words “I got you and I got this” when she reassured our community about the safety of today’s event.
Thank you, Commissioner Tisch!
Proud to join thousands of New Yorkers at the Israel Day Parade and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of New York’s Jewish community.
New York is home to the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, and today was a powerful reminder of the vibrancy and pride of Jewish life in our city. At a time when antisemitism continues to rise here at home and around the world, it is more important than ever to stand with Jewish New Yorkers and speak out against hate.
More than a million Jews call New York City home, and today’s Israel Day Parade showcased the spirit of that community. NYC Comptroller Levine joined elected officials, community leaders, and thousands of New Yorkers in celebrating Jewish heritage and traditions.
At a pre-parade legislative breakfast, the @MetCouncil also honored Comptroller Levine for his work advancing affordable housing initiatives for New Yorkers.
I don't typically experience much FOMO, but boy, am I bummed to have missed the NYC Israel Day Parade!!
All my favorite politicians were there, and camels too!

It was great to march in the Israel Day Parade today with many of my colleagues and thousands of New Yorkers.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate!
Everyone should be able to walk into their place of worship without fear of harassment or intimidation.
Alongside Jewish leaders and community members, today we made that the law in New York.
I’m proud to march alongside thousands of New Yorkers in today’s Israel Day Parade.
At a time of rising antisemitism, it’s more important than ever that we come together in celebration of our Judaism and connection to Israel.
As home to the largest Jewish community outside of Israel, New York City sends a powerful message today: we are choosing joy over hate, unity over division, and pride over fear.
From celebrating @MetCouncil for their extraordinary work in fighting poverty, to marching with @SpeakerMenin, the first @NYCCouncil Jewish Speaker in this year’s Israeli Day Parade, it was quite a special day today, especially as the Co-Chair of @JewishCaucusNYC@UJAfedNY@JCRCNY
Just to be clear, I don't think the NYT is lying about people saying this, or doing rage bait. I believe some people really are saying it. I'm just perplexed by it. It's like finding out that some people have been pronouncing USA "Oosa" this whole time.
A special thanks to WITNESS Board Member and Founder of In The Room Media, Skye Ostreicher, who had the idea to bring our students’ skills into the room through a tailoring pop-up. Skye taught us the importance of not just explaining the work, but letting people experience it.
