@AEF_Program A2: STEM work needs to feel real for students. Connect them to authentic experiences and relevant ideas to make them realize the importance of developing their science and engineering skills!
@AEF_Program Q1: Shout out to my former colleague and current superstar @JoeSantiagoEDU, who supports both students and teachers in their computer science journeys with patience, humor, and awesome DJ skills. #EinsteinFellows23
@AEF_Program Hi, I’m Sarah, #EinsteinFellows23 at #USGS_YES. Most of my science reading has focused on understanding the natural world and how it changes over time. Love to see the diversity of resources related to computer science for students of all ages!
A3: The Martian is an incredible story of hope, persistence, resourcefulness, and perseverance, as well as one rooted in the wonder and thrill of innovation and exploration. Plus it includes my favorite movie line ever. Apologies for the curse. @MartianMovie#EinsteinFellows23
A2: So many incredible #STEM learning opportunities have helped me grow in my knowledge and practice, as well as improved my enthusiasm for teaching. Showing kids what you love about science helps them see what they could love about science. #EinsteinFellows23
Q1: My all time favorite children’s book to read with my 8th graders is Dr. Suess’s The Lorax. I love how it ends with a message of hope and empowerment- you’re in charge of the last of the Truffula seeds and Truffula trees are what everyone needs. #EinsteinFellows23
Intro: There is no better video to demonstrate the wonders and joys of being a scientist than this one. @JaneGoodallInst#Einsteinfellows23

A3: I’d love to be a science instructional coach, supporting other teachers as they develop effective strategies for building the next generation of scientists and engineers in their classrooms. #EinsteinFellows23
A1: One lesson I’ve learned about leading others is that everyone needs a place at the table. Find a way to show every member of the team that they are an essential part of the team. #EinsteinFellows23
