Feedback on the Current State of Tarkov
This will likely be my last post on the current game state, It is becoming exhausting to think about.
Below are several tuning changes that I believe could be implemented quickly and would significantly improve how the game feels to play:
-Reduce aim punch
-Increase global loot, including key room loot
-Remove diminishing returns from skills
-Remove ADS delay
-Reduce footstep hearing distance
-Increase carry weight capacity
These are all variables that could realistically be adjusted in a matter of days and would make Tarkov feel 100% better.
I have accepted that many long-standing bugs may never be fully fixed, but at minimum the game should feel good to play while we deal with them. For example, I would be far less frustrated by crashing three times today while trying to complete tasks if I didn't feel forced to play PvE or Arena just to level combat skills effectively. Poorly leveled skills make basic movement across maps feel sluggish and unresponsive.
The task system rework made Kappa feel like an achievable and usable goal rather than just an end-of-wipe trophy. Skills are now in the same position Kappa used to be in — by the time an average player maxes them, particularly Strength or Endurance, it is nearly time for the next wipe, which defeats the purpose of progression.
This also creates a secondary issue: some skills, such as Health, cannot be maxed because they depend on XP from other skills that are already maxed. Without diminishing returns, this would not be a problem.
It would take minimal effort to make the game feel good. I appreciate that new content is planned for the future of Tarkov, but I am playing Tarkov today, and I want the current experience to feel good. @domontovich@nikgeneburn
Rant over.
Only gun posting for a while.
"Bricking someone's hardware" is a wild way to say "Vanguard enabled a standard Windows security feature that blocks unauthorized memory access."
If a player takes the shady DMA cheat card out of their motherboard, the PC boots perfectly fine. Riot didn't fry their circuits; they just put a lock on a door.
And please stop using "false positives" as a shield for people who bought literal hardware exploits. A standard gaming PC doesn't accidentally grow a Direct Memory Access card running custom spoofed firmware. If your PC got flagged by this update, you didn't accidentally download a bad patch; you spent $300 to cheat at a video game and got caught. Nice try though.
WE’RE BACK!!! After nearly 20 years, the Wayans brothers are finally going to give the fans what they’ve been asking for… a return to the SCARY MOVIE franchise! We’re looking forward to having fun on the big screen again.
