Great paper showing that allowing for thinking time & paired discussion before whole-class questioning (think-pair-share), increases voluntary contributions and reduces pupil anxiety. So important currently!
A society where every young person struggling with their mental health has a place to turn and always feels comfortable talking about it. That’s worth fighting for.
@maosbot Thank you for sharing! I have fibromyalgia. A colleague/friend has long covid & we are putting provision in place to support her in school teaching. Insane how much overlap we discovered there also is with our symptoms e.g. pain, fatigue, brain fog. Little known about fibro too.
I’m feeling the pain, brain fog and fatigue at the of the half-term. My fibromyalgia flares up at the end of term/high stress periods. Any other teachers/leaders out there managing a chronic health condition? Please say hi! 👋🏼#educhat#fibro#chronicillness#teacherhealth#flare
@thateyetie I left teaching for a bit but stayed working within education, which I really enjoyed! Much better work/life balance but still familiar territory. I did look at other roles with children or education/learning development related. Charity & Guardian job sites are good! Good luck

@Truthfairy74 Definitely not beaten & doing an MA also but I do set boundaries around work, even housework! Break tasks down:don’t beat myself up when stuff doesn’t get done. I also try & be more in the present with my little one! I now get up pre 6am to do yoga & meditate and its helped! x
To mark #worldmentalhealthday2021 ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’ I am giving away a copy of each of my two books . All you have to do is RT and try and spread the word far and wide so we can get support to where it matters. #Mentalhealth#schools The draw is on 10.10.21.
