Zeev Buium Season Preview

In 2025-26 Zeev Buium got off to real hot start with the Minnesota Wild notching 2 goals and 6 assists in his first 12 games. While Brock Faber was out Buium got first PP unit time and averaged 19:36 of ice time per game. Majority of his point production was in that first month.

The main piece the Canucks got him the Hughes deal. Buium got off to a hot start with Vancouver adding a goal and assist in his first game with his new team. Buium offensively showed a lot of flashes of being great, but with very little production having 12 points in 45 games as a Canuck.

In 2026-27 Buium needs to get more PP1 opportunities I know we have Hronek, but Adam Foote near the end of the season gave him very little Powerplay opportunities in a time where we should’ve been giving younger guys more opportunities.

Buium is still only 20 years old. And has shown lots of promise in his young career. He may not be a Quinn Hughes, but I still think he’s gonna be a dam good dman for the next 10-15 years for this team.

Elias Pettersson Season Preview.

The last 2 season for the Canucks star only averaging 0.70 Points per game. Before signing the massive contract Pettersson was easily a point per game player.

Pettersson still plays great 2-way game. And let’s hope that brining in an offensive minded head coach can get him back to where he used to be.

Pettersson has a great shot and that was evident early in his career but the last couple seasons he hasn’t utilized it at all. To much pass first would like to see him shoot the puck more (and also hit the net more) . From 2022-2024 he averaged 2.86 shots on net per game. The last 2 seasons he’s down to 1.75 shots on net per game. This is unacceptable.

I’m expecting a bounce back year from EP40 and if it’s another dud of a season you can expect the Canucks to look at buying out that contract.
