Hi! Thank you for asking. Iโve actually been out of the fashion industry for quite a while now, so I canโt fully say how much things may have changed recently, but I can share what I know from my experience.
In general, most runway collections are divided into SS (Spring/Summer) and FW (Fall/Winter) seasons, which are usually presented during Fashion Weeks in cities like New York, London, Milan, and Paris. What Felix is attending right now is LVโs Cruise show (also referred to as a Resort or Pre-Spring collection).
Cruise shows are typically held by larger luxury houses with substantial budgets, since they often involve destination venues, large-scale production, and hosting guests from around the world. Smaller or mid-sized brands are generally less likely to organize shows on this scale. Itโs somewhat similar to how not every brand separates menswear and womenswear into different runways โ many brands still present them together in a single show.
Compared to the main Fashion Week shows, Cruise and Pre-Fall shows usually feel more selective in terms of invitations. Fashion Week presentations tend to have larger guest lists overall, including more celebrities, press, VIC clients, and regional guests. Cruise shows, meanwhile, often have more limited seating, so invitations are typically more focused on key clients, global ambassadors, and long-term industry relationships. Thatโs probably why youโre noticing fewer celebrities there compared to the main Fashion Week shows.
The show location can also influence the guest list quite a bit. For example, if a show is held in the US, there are often more American clients and celebrities invited. If itโs held in Japan, Japanese guests may naturally have a higher chance of attending. Itโs similar to how celebrities are generally more likely to appear at events taking place within their own country or major market.
I hope this helped explain things a little better!
