@PSPolygons @gamerave I'm one of the owners of the Elemental Gearbolt: Assassins Case. You had to get a perfect score on expert mode in Elemental Gearbolt at E3 '98 in Atlanta. Old photos, but mine is immaculate and still has the original shipping box. It's locked up in my vault.
Achieved a Bronze rank- up from Iron- in Street Fighter 6 tonight. This is only my 2nd day playing this game. Such a great fighting game. A lot of my online matches don't even bother to request a rematch because it's basically no contest against a veteran Street Fighter player.
The making of Konami’s 1991 Simpsons Arcade Game -
Konami visited the Simpsons animation set for visual reference during development, and Fox (along with 20th Century Studios/Disney) gave them significant creative freedom to invent new story sequences and elements not seen in the show
The game entered development in February 1990 (very early in the show’s run, between seasons 1 and 2), with location testing in Chicago in December 1990 before its North American release in March 1991
Konami was riding high on the success of their 1989 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade beat ’em up and wanted to replicate that four-player co-op formula with another big license
To capture the show’s distinctive look and humor as faithfully as possible, the team studied the animation closely. This resulted in pixel-perfect sprites, original voice clips from the main cast (Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, and Yeardley Smith), and plenty of Springfield cameos and gags. They even included subtle nods like Marge’s rabbit ears (a reference to Matt Groening’s original Life in Hell concept for her) visible in certain animations
The plot itself is entirely original: the Simpsons chase after Maggie (who swallows a stolen diamond) through levels like Krustyland, a zombie-filled cemetery, Moe’s Tavern, and the power plant, battling goons, bosses like a giant Krusty balloon or Mr. Burns in a transforming mech suit. This “playable episode” approach helped it stand out as the first Simpsons video game released in North America

Ranked up in Street Fighter 6 tonight. It felt good. The player who I was against had a 4-match winning streak and probably didn't realize his opponent had fighting game talent.
@brockpierson No, we never had that style of big screen TV. We did a large RCA TV in the living room at my old house that my first PS1 was hooked up to on Christmas morning to play Beyond the Beyond, though.
llusion of Gaia is a 1993 SNES action RPG from Quintet. The setting is a fantasy version of Earth in the age of exploration. You play Will, a young boy with strange powers. A comet is coming, and it will change the world. Will must travel to real-world ruins to stop it.
Will from Illusion of Gaia was my main cosplay at MAGFest this year! Thank you to everyone at Quintet and Enix who made this game as special as it is.
Change into the Dark Knight, Freedan?
@godfree Oh yes, one player only was a very common criticism of Final Fight on SNES at the time of release. You could also not play as Guy, who a lot of people liked in the arcades. But I will give Capcom credit for making a reasonably arcade accurate port of the game playable at home.
