If you need more reasons to hate what PlayStation has become, here’s a quick overview of their sins 👇🏻👇🏻

🛑 Wasted almost an entire generation chasing Live Service games and burned BILLIONS in the process.

🛑 Forced studios into Live Service projects, only for most of them to get cancelled, fail, or die almost immediately.

🛑 Bought Bungie for $3.7 BILLION 😂 I still laugh every time I see that number.

🛑 Shut down Bluepoint Studio.

🛑 Horrible project management resulting in absurd $200–300M+ development budgets.

🛑 Constant price increases. Instead of taking responsibility for their own mismanagement, they pass the bill onto their customers. WE are expected to pay for THEIR failures.

🛑 Killed TLOU Online - ironically one of the few Live Service projects people were actually interested in.

🛑 Barely any major new IPs.

🛑 Almost zero meaningful communication with their fans.

🛑 The great PlayStation showcases are basically gone.

🛑 PS Plus keeps getting more expensive while the value proposition becomes harder and harder to justify.

🛑 Shut down Japan Studio, one of the studios that gave PlayStation so much of its identity and creativity.

🛑Killed Destiny 2

🛑 Concord. Hundreds of millions reportedly spent, only for the game to become one of the biggest disasters in PlayStation history.

🛑 Increasingly obsessed with gigantic AAA budgets instead of funding more smaller, creative and experimental games.

🛑 PS5 Pro pricing showed just how far they’re willing to push their most loyal customers.

🛑 More focus on monetizing the existing user base instead of simply giving that user base better value.

🛑 And now they’re killing physical discs from 2028.

This isn’t about ONE bad decision.

It’s years of arrogance, greed, mismanagement and slowly destroying the things that made people love PlayStation in the first place

REPORT: Sony’s plan to end physical game media has reportedly generated enough tension, according to @NWeedle after his Gamescom experience🚀

✅Backlash had impact on their marketing strategies and forcing them to change how they communicate

✅3rd-party developers are preferring not to be associated with Sony at the moment

This is quite likely due to every PlayStation marketing material is being full of comment calling for “NO DISC 💿 NO BUY”

Keep up the pressure and don’t give up. Speak out against ending physical media, vote with your voices and wallets and join the PlayStation Blackout

We don’t hate gaming, we love gaming very much that we refuse to let corporate greed to further ruin it for us.

A digital-only future is NOT evolution, it’s going backwards because it means:

❌No competition/options for prices
❌No 2nd hand marketing and trading
❌Always being tied to an account
❌Losing games if an account is lost
❌Region-locking
❌64% of the world who have no dedicated PlayStation Store will lose access to games

Hey @Sony be honest for once

You chose Marathon over Destiny because the goal was always to dissolve Bungie. No other logical explanation makes sense.

Makes it look like it really WAS always about revenge cause Pete bent you over.

Destiny still has more people on it than Marathon while being left to die. That should tell you everything.

You can’t run a studio like this but Destiny could and did with proper care.

Hire the team back and stop playing.

SONY is sending out emails updating and reminding people of their PlayStation terms. short version what it says:

- You don't own your digital games, you rent a license
- If a account closed or banned your games are gone, even paid ones
- PlayStation can record your chats, clips, ip address
- Clips you share, they can sell and put ads on and you get no cut
- their liability is capped at £100! This means if Sony screws something up and it costs you money, the most they'll pay you back is £100, no matter how much you actually lost

PlayStation’s CEOs since Jim Ryan, and all the way to Nishino and Hermen Hulst have ruined the image of an iconic brand and made the worst decisions possible, and now they’re trying to penalize players for their failure🚀

✅They’re distant attitude towards fans have been going for years, when they stopped doing any live events or major appearances at E3 and the likes, which took away so much from the sense of communication with fans

✅Maintaining a cold and purely corporate approach towards fans

✅Forced studios into a failed live-service chase, leading to cancelled projects, erratic studio closures, and massive resource waste.

✅Acquiring and shutting down many studios in the last few years before they had the chance to produce anything

✅Overspent on acquisitions and projects, notably a $3.7 billion investment in Bungie and an estimated $400 million loss on Concord.

✅Barely any innovation with games, as they rely on 4 main brands for new entries, and remakes and remasters of them

✅Increased prices for PS Plus and hardware while the output has been abysmal

✅Now they’re trying to force a digital-only future where much of this corruption and incompetence will be amplified

✅They are using manipulated data to engineer this narrative that physical games are a niche market, by calculating DLC, MTX, digital only and free-to-play as “digital purchases”. Whole global physical sales for games tell a whole different story

✅64% of the world has no dedicated PS Store, meaning 64% of the world will not be able to legally acquire video games per Sony’s terms

✅Games that consist of a code in a box are region locked too

✅Ditching physical media means no competition, no options, pricing hikes and reliance on the mercy of a storefront and its functioning networks, and their support team in case issues occur

These CEOs need to go. Sony needs a team that is passionate about video games rather than vultures or feed off the blood of gamers to appease their shareholders alone.

I get Destiny was expensive but killing the one live-service game with an actual playerbase amidst all these failures remains ludicrous to me, instead of trying to further change things to make it work

Destiny kept Bungie alive for 12 years.

Through every low, every crisis, every near-collapse.

Then they starved it for Marathon and other garbage… and watched the whole thing burn.

12 years of Guardians gone so they could chase a game that couldn’t even hold players.

I’ll never forget what this game gave us.

Sony’s push for ending physical game discs is not “the future”, it’s a stepping stone towards more greed and control🚀

✅Ending second hand market
✅Creating a monopoly
✅Raise prices when no competition exists
✅Ending ownership
✅Likely ending digital purchases eventually
✅Moving to a full subscription model
✅Making you buy the same game multiple times when licenses end and sell you another remakester

Supporting Sony is not supporting the future nor “moving on” from “antiquated CDs”,
it is fighting against your own self interest

❌Trust no media
❌Trust no politicians w/conflict of interest
❌Trust no people wanting to win favors with Sony

Trust your own wallet and your money’s worth, and remember how complacency led to microtransactions, DLC and paid multiplayer to become the norm.
