That incentive being “you can maybe clear this battle with less SP drain if you proc this ailment and chain it affect all enemies, where you can then melee it to death”
Most things on the remake aside, the ‘Send Flying’ mechanic is awesome and a net buff to debuffs because it actually trying to get players to use ailment skills in the core gameplay loop
I feel like i'm leaning too hard into being a chud as of late but persona 4 revival looks terrible, like nothing about it stands out as a good change or a decent/interesting take on the gameplay. persona 4 golden had that artstyle collapse so we see it again here.
Traditionally the most obvious solution was to hit weaknesses to do an all out attack, because that is the most cost effective route. But that kind of muscles ailments out, especially when a lot of bosses are immune. Send Flying creates incentive to use ailments

Me now: I hope Wemby gets into a car crash
Like I said, I get it's different now. Phones are actually strong enough to run real games and it's more common to have a decent computer now, but I get it
Also I know things are different now, but back when I was growing up I *did* watch walkthroughs and let's plays of games I was interested in but couldn't get.
Emulated what I could but I remember that emulating a ps2 games was considered intensive. Family computers werent strong
@wanderjegson@sugar_yippee Good news: Yu is gender-neutral. Funnily enough, the "canon" name for the protagonists of P3-4-5 has all been gender neutral
@rinsass I think in a way remakes do end up “replacing” the original. Not completely, but it would be dumb to say that remakes don’t become the first choice that new audiences will make. But I also don’t necessarily think that it’s a wholly bad thing either. I think it’s just exaggerated
