Adapting Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian (1985) into a film has long been considered one of the most difficult projects in Hollywood.
Over the years, several major directors have tried to bring the novel’s brutal, visionary power to the screen—including Ridley Scott, Tommy Lee Jones, James Franco, and Todd Field. None of those attempts moved forward.

I look disgusting, I know I do. A lot of people have sh*t to say, but be confident.”
