Taking away any sort of blame from Arteta is disingenuous. He definitely got his midfield dynamics wrong and underestimated the need for another creative profile alongside Odegaard in midfield, or he overestimated Odegaard’s action capacities. Let’s not forget, Arsenal let go of Smith Rowe and Vieira and brought in a completely different profile in Merino. This is a clear indication of how Arteta wanted to profile his midfield. A midfield trio of Rice, Odegaard, and Smith Rowe/offensive interior solves the issues Arsenal face against mid-blocks. I have always maintained that Arsenal need another creative profile in the left half space; this was always going to be further emphasized once teams started treating Arsenal with the same respect as City.

@nonewthing I love that you said this. On all the occasions that we went down to 10 men mikel arteta changes are always to sub off those fast ball carriers(martinelle and saka) and revert to havertz being our highest player. We don’t have a personal problem,WE HAVE A MANAGER PROBLEM.
