“See, this shit you went through, most people don't know pain like that. They never will. And if they did, it would end them. But the people who dig in, the ones who keep surviving, those are the ones you can't beat. Those are the ones no one can beat. Because once you've weathered a storm like yours... you become the storm. You are the storm. And it's the rest of the world that needs to run for cover.”
- Fernando Vera
@JonnyBones The UFC gifted you a title defense against a 42 year old Stipe Miocic, then offered you $30 million to fight Aspinall—which you turned down. You’re bitching about not being able to fight, but the fact of the matter is, YOU chose to run away and retire.
@Aspedd5280@ryanwadephotos@RustySchacklefo@arielhelwani It doesn’t state that. It states that in some cases they gave them “some money”, but they don’t get the show money. Here’s the words coming directly outta Dana’s mouth if you’re still having trouble coming to grips with the facts: https://t.co/6efPO1dxwN
@nash_gomez@Aspedd5280@ryanwadephotos@RustySchacklefo@arielhelwani 100% correct. There's literally clips of him explaining what happens when these situation occurs. Unfortunately, social media is toxic and nobody knows how to take a second to double check anything before they speak. Everyone NEEDS to be right all the time.
Unless they changed it, I know that wasn’t the case just a year or two ago. Wonderboy actually just got into it with the UFC after Michel Pereira missed weight and the fight got canceled. There’s been instances where Dana gave them “some money”, but he specifically said back in 2020 if the fight gets canceled, you don’t get your show money.
@McGregorRousey2 It’s even worse when you take the actual percentage she missed by into account. When you miss weight by 8 pounds at 135, which is 5.9%, it’s like missing weight by 16 pounds in the HW division. Not to mention this is her third miss. She should without question be cut.
@MacMallyMMA Luana should be cut, and the @ufc should find Mullins a different opponent. It’s not right that she invested money into her camp, killed herself to make weight, and now might not get paid.
@RustySchacklefo@arielhelwani Not if the fight’s canceled. If the fight were to continue, the person who made weight would get a percentage of the purse of the opponent who missed weight. In this case though, neither fighter gets paid.
@jedigoodman This is a great example of why Joe is such a good dude. After all the shit Ronda said about him, he still has the ability to stay objective and not let it affect his judgment. There’s not a lot of people like this in the world anymore.
@HappyPunch Time heals all. If you do anything long enough, it’s gonna take time to transition and break that habit. I really hope he’s patient and doesn’t go back to fighting. I love that the UFC gave him a spot on the desk. He’s good at it and seems to love it.
@Home_of_Fight If that’s the case, how come those same people weren’t jealous of you before the fight? Oliveira has consistently been a fan favorite for years up until this point.
