@ericmetaxas Simply done. When Jewish writers used a prophetic or symbolic day they simply said "day" for example the "day of the Lord". For a literal 24-hour day, they added the day night cycle. You see this in Genesis 1:3 "And there was evening, and there was morningβthe first day."
@TheMuppetPastor I was raised in a home of Spirit led believers, filled with testimonies of demons being cast out, healings, and other miracles. I also enjoy the wonder of fantasy. As a Christian I love the 'magic' and mysticism of God, & can find it 'challenging' when others struggle with it.
@OleBeeM@DineshDSouza Jesus of Nazareth lived as a Jew to fulfill the Law and the Prophets, and then He died. Jesus the Christ, whose only allegiance is the Kingdom of God, rose from the grave and points the way to Jesus - through obedience to His commands.
@DineshDSouza He moved sin & righteous from tasks to the heart. Fulfilled the need for sacrifices by being the last one, & said to reach the Father repent and follow Him. Those are dramatic changes to the how but the what is still to love, honour, and obey God. The baton was simply passed on.
@OrganicJustice@zoeschimke Reading the OT as a micro-expression of the Lord's salvation plan for the world is fascinating. It's not replacing someone, when they have fulfilled their mission - the baton is simply passed on. The repentant now carry the Messiah to the world as natural Israel did.
@OrganicJustice@zoeschimke God worked through a natural people to bring the seed of the Messiah. Post the resurrection, we return to His original plan, salvation for all mankind. There is no natural lineage that has an advantage, all must repent and follow Jesus. This is His eternal Israel.
@ItsAaronRich But His intent was a return to the Creators original plan, salvation for all mankind. No natural lineage has an advantage or disadvantage post the resurrection of Christ. Repent and follow Jesus, it is the only way to right standing with the Father.
@MoreporkThe@punishablepress What context? If they were mouthing off did they deserve it? A group guys assaulting 2 girls is out of bounds no matter the context.
@biblicalman This is the danger of "lukewarm" the saint is on fire, the sinner is ice cold, both know where they stand. The "good" person simmers in the middle not being a zealous nutter, nor being as 'bad as those others', not realising there is no middle ground when it comes to salvation.
@ElijahSchaffer Welcome to living out the verse that speaks of working out our salvation daily. All we need to know is that the only perfect thing about is the Jesus we love and follow - and trust the Holy Spirit to guide us in God's plan for us. To be conformed to the image of His son. βοΈβ€οΈ
@autocorrect2_0 The only lineage that matters is the that of the risen Christ, which is not tied to any natural people. We repent and accept the gift of salvation and enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. No natural people have any advantage or disadvantage, we all need Jesus.
@rabbriansamuel For me it has always been a simple matter of Jesus of Nazareth entering the tomb, but Jesus the Christ rising from it. God has no earthly lineage, when we repent and follow the risen Christ we become sons and daughter of Kingdom of God.
@TheReal_LaymanX@MICAH_SIXEIGHT@MrCasey62 You need a grammar lesson. Jesus said Peter's revelation of Him as God not just a prophet was given from heaven, and upon that revelation He would build His church. Not on Peter. Do a grammar check and see for yourself that your papal claim is based on illiteracy.
