I am a follower of Jesus, “the Prince of Peace,” which means I do not believe violence is ever justified. When Jesus said love your enemies I think he meant that we shouldn’t kill them. As the early Christians said — For Christ we can die but we cannot kill.
Having said that, if you are upset that Iran tried to destroy the USA-made F-35 bombers… but you are not upset that these F-35s have been killing thousands of precious children in Gaza, check your heart.
The F-35 bombers are made by Lockheed Martin one of the world’s largest profiteers of war. The genocide in Gaza is being carried out with funds from the USA, and with weapons from the USA, like these F-35s. Our country has blood on its hands.
God cares about every child in Gaza just as much as every child in Israel. And over 13,000 kids have been killed since Oct. 7.
Killing children is evil, no matter what flag you try to wrap it in.
Enough killing. Melt down every bomber. Destroy every gun. Violence is the disease not the cure. We will not build a better world by killing other people’s children.
@chipfranklin My spouse has not. And he’s an ER doc who worked full time all throughout the pandemic. He wore his PPE religiously (and still is) and got vaxxed as soon as they were available. Still kind of a miracle though that he didn’t get Covid.
@SarahLarchmont “Friendly reminder.” When I get a friendly reminder that I have something like an upcoming dentist appointment it doesn’t sound friendly at all. It’s more like a veiled threat, as in “You’d better show up for this appointment or else.”
Anytime you’re tempted to put yourself down for anxiety or low energy these days, just add, “during a deadly pandemic” to the end of the sentence. “Why am I so stressed about going to the post office during a deadly pandemic?” “Why can’t I focus during a deadly pandemic?”
@SSPgozaPath@RebeccaHarriso7 @Deanna_EPNP @DGlaucomflecken It’s true that herpes can cause uveitis but often it’s caused by an autoimmune condition, and sometimes no cause is ever identified. I’ve had anterior uveitis for 20 years and no cause was ever found. Luckily I’m receiving excellent care and have not had any vision loss.
