Forgive me but I (Caitlin) need to take a hiatus from releasing episodes for my mental health. Thank you for understanding; hope to be back soon(ish). Take care, stay safe, and hang in there ❤️
Oh hey, I'm doing a fundraising campaign for @DWCweb for Women's History Month -- please donate to this amazing organization if you can!

@caitlindurante@jamieloftusHELP I seriously can't thank you enough. Also thankyouthankyouthankyou for that donation. My partner and I just saw it and were like ... speechless for a second. We actually finally finished Sludge in the hospital, and goddamn, it was so relatable. ESPECIALLY in that setting.
If you can, please donate to @rainbowdethclub (screenwriting student of mine! avid Bechdel Cast listener! all around cool person!)'s GoFundMe to help out with some unexpected medical expenses!

Today is my sludge surgery anniversary (sludgeversary)! Can't believe it's been a year since they took out all my sludge! P.S. Check out @SludgePodcast
I want to address something that I think about a lot, which is the use of specific colloquial language that is ableist and disparaging of mental illness (a thread).
cw: suicide
The fact that #SuicidePreventionMonth centres around helplines, friendship, and 'don't be afraid to speak out!' rather than healthcare, radically transforming services, eradicating poverty and fighting oppression is telling to how performative the whole thing is.

Shout out to the ER who just now billed me for when I went there for my sludge (gallbladder) attack, which was over a year ago, and special shout out to the American healthcare system that doesn't view healthcare as a basic human right.
New episode “Getting Sterilized” is out now! @caitlindurante chats with Megan Koester (@bornferal) and Allen Strickland Williams (@TotallyAllen) who have both elected to get sterilized and who had vastly different experiences! Give it a listen!
