元ニルヴァーナのドラムにしてフーファイターズのフロントマン。デイヴ・グロールを父に持つヴァイオレット・グロールデビューアルバムからの曲。

父デイヴは本作に一切関与していないと公にしているが、幼少期からPixies、Soundgarden、PJ Harvey、Alice in Chainsなど80年代90年代の音楽をグランジオルタナを聴いていたと公言しているので、要するに関与する必要がないぐらいゴリゴリのオルタナガールになったということ。

メジャーリリースだが、オルタナやインディーロック独特の狙った不協和音やスカスカな音を見事に使いこなしている。

For context: Rocky Horror was a once-ever studio-backed counter culture film adapted from a fringe play with a "let's put on a show guys!" energy using the perfect cast and crew. A paradox of a time capsule now: 50s sexual repression, rock music, and sci-fi through the lens of 70's America. It's dated in some ways, but a completely impractical work of art that feels as alive now as it ever did.

fun fact: the stage was incredibly slippery because everyone was wet. they had heaters in tents for between takes that eventually set the tents on fire and susan sarandon had pneumonia the whole time.

Three girls from a conservative village in Garut, Indonesia.
In 2014 they were 14. They found System of a Down on a school computer. A teacher said start a band. They did.
Then the village answered.
Stones. Death threats. Smashed windows. Cars trying to run them down. Power cut mid-gig. “Devil’s music.” Haram. All because three hijab-wearing kids dared to play metal.
They named the band Voice of Baceprot. It means “noisy.”
This is them in France covering “Enter Sandman.” Leather jackets. Headscarves. Barefoot on the drums. No click track. No extra help. Just a trio that learned how to survive first, and play second.
Most covers try to honor Metallica.
This one feels like they earned the right to touch the song.
From hated noise in a small village… to a stage in Rennes, then Glastonbury, then the world.
That’s not a gimmick.
That’s defiance with a riff.
