Noah Diaz alone was leagues better than someone like deep wang.

@FromTheDepths88 I see. Thank you for clarifying! I believe the conflict between mankind and kaiju is intrinsic to the concept of kaiju. Removing humans removes this conflict and without that conflict, does this continue to be a kaiju story? I don't think it would be.

@FromTheDepths88 I don't like this framing of a kaiju movies focus being torn between the kaiju and human characters because IMO, kaiju ARE characters as much as the humans are. To view or write the kaiju in a manner seperate from the humans is a mistake IMO.

@livechristian1 Jonah did far worse than run away. We tend to think his act of running away was done out of fear, but IIRC it was, in reality, an act of extreme hubris and hatred. He didn't run because he was afraid of Nineveh. He ran away because he WANTED to force God to wipe that city away.

@DMan1954Gojira I think it's a good Kong film but absolutely not a good Godzilla movie and one that fails Godzilla's character even. Its saving grace is that the fights between Kong and Godzilla were absolutely perfectly executed and delivered the rematch people had wanted for so long.

@DMan1954Gojira I mean that's not entirely separate from Nihilism, particularly how he believes the entire universe is doomed to die. That said I myself do enjoy this trilogy a great deal, I just definitely would have reworked it a bit myself if I were the one making it.

@darwintojesus You could always do any of those things, but that's not the actual issue. The issue is about if you SHOULD be doing those things or not. Even if said individual is "free" to do those things, they're not free from the inevitable consequences of said things.
