Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has doubled down on his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, insisting they have plunged Nigerians into hardship.
BREAKING: Opposition lawmakers demand immediate release of El-Rufai, warn against political persecution
Opposition lawmakers have called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately release former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, warning that his continued detention could be perceived as political persecution.
The lawmakers questioned the manner in which El-Rufai’s case has been handled, arguing that the government’s anti-corruption campaign must not be used as a tool to target political opponents.
They maintained that if the government is genuinely committed to fighting corruption, the process must be transparent, impartial and free from political considerations.
The lawmakers also stressed that “the fight against corruption must be a fight against corruption, not a fight against political opponents,” while demanding that El-Rufai be released.

Both men play church politics.
Obi does it — his supporters cheer.
Amaechi does it — the same people cry foul.
If it was fine for Obi, it should be fine for Amaechi.
Just give us basic amenities of life is all Nigerians are asking of Tinubu led APC Govt.
Examples include:
Clean and safe water
