#Lithium is critical to America’s energy future — and its national security.
As this @NBCnow_ segment shows, #Arkansas has a historic opportunity to help reduce U.S. reliance on China and build a secure domestic battery supply chain.
Standard Lithium is proud to help lead that effort from the Smackover region.

We were pleased to recently host representatives and advisers from several Export Credit Agencies, including @EximBankUS, @ExportDevCanada and @EksfinN, in Arkansas as part of the underwriting and diligence process prior to seeking formal credit approval, supporting the proposed project financing being pursued for the South West Arkansas Project.
Site visits like these provide a valuable opportunity to showcase the years of technical work, operational planning, and expertise that have positioned the project where it is today: the only shovel-ready lithium project in the U.S. preparing to take a Final Investment Decision.
As domestic lithium supply becomes increasingly important to energy and national security priorities, we appreciate the continued engagement and collaboration from our financing partners as we advance this critical workstream.

Investing in domestic lithium production, like the Smackover Formation in south Arkansas, should be a national security priority.
I’m asking @DeptofWar how we can make domestic lithium production a priority investment. https://t.co/GABmY4SS0P
We are happy to share that @StandardLithium & @Equinor’s South West Arkansas Project has completed federal permitting! The mining project will produce 22,500 tonnes of battery-quality lithium carbonate, helping build a critical domestic supply chain. https://t.co/D2Oo3qr32J
The Smackover Formation in South Arkansas contains 19 million tons of lithium reserves. We should not be relying on Communist China for this crucial mineral.
I commend President Trump and @SecretaryWright for prioritizing domestic lithium production.
Thrilled to announce we have reached another critical milestone on our pathway to FID - the signing of our first commercial offtake agreement for the South West Arkansas project with Trafigura Trading LLC.
Under the terms of this binding take-or-pay offtake agreement, Smackover Lithium will supply Trafigura with 8,000 metric tonnes per year of battery-quality lithium carbonate over a 10-year period, beginning at the start of commercial production, with pricing terms structured to support the anticipated financing for the Project.

We are grateful for the leadership of @RepWesterman, @RepNateMoran, @RepRickCrawford, @RepPatFallon, and @rep_stevewomack for underscoring the important role that lithium plays to reduce our reliance on China. Smackover Lithium’s South West Arkansas project is the only shovel ready project with fully derisked DLE technology and a locally trained operations team. With continued support from the US government, our South West Arkansas project is on track to begin construction in 2026 with first production in 2028.
Exciting news out of Texas! We released a maiden inferred resource report for our Franklin Project in East Texas, highlighting the size and quality of our resource in the region including some of the highest reported lithium-in-brine grades in North America.
