Booted Eagle (dark morph) today, Roskestal Farm, Porthgwarra, Cornwall. This amazing bird is the best rarity I've discovered in Britain by far, and it being a raptor made it more special as they are possibly my favourite bird group. Surely a chance for it to be seen elsewhere?

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@Jan_Leeming It's October. Perfectly normal. Don't know where you've been living.

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

Hawk Owl and Tengmalm's Owl in Holland, what with Nutcrackers about to arrive en masse this could be an interesting next couple of weeks.

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@DaveThroup No doubt due to the drains bring blocked....

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@Craigshaw333 Macrorhyncos subspecies from east of the Urals. Caryocatactes (nominate thick-billed) are European breeders in , for instance, Poland, Slovakia, Romania etc. Are these really split, then??

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@Heccles94 More gammon than a Toby Carvery.

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@lady_valor_07 Clive James? Classic. Usually with Margarita Pracatan!🤣

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@AWPRCO Rule 1 on their list: "Securing the tick must come first, even if it's at the detriment of the welfare of the bird or other observers". Sound familiar?

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@DagChaseBirder Seen thr flycatcher, but miffed at the robin as missed it on Tenerife.

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]

@ArthriticPeak @mikebarthbirdin I didn't think I'd be ticking Long-tailed Shrike and Hudsonian Godwit in the same month.

[Perry Smale @SmalePerry]
