// I would like to remind everyone of a belief I've been vocal about since the start: RP is meant to be fun, and both real life and mental health come first.
@earstoeyes [Charlie hums thoughtfully.]
Well, most of that is exactly what we're here for. However, I like to see to it that there's a bit of give and take. If you want information, it is polite to provide some as well.
@CanadianCryptic [They can't manage to completely hide the surprise in their voice.]
Deal. Let's go somewhere more private than the middle of the sidewalk.
[Eating out alone is a calming treat that Charlie actually misses from their time becore Theron and Cassie, at least occasionally. They try to make a night a month to go out on their own. They're just about to start in on their pasta when they get the feeling.]
@CanadianCryptic
@CanadianCryptic That, and where she took you. She doesn't talk about it much, and I can't make her, but... I need to know.
[It's an admission more raw than they intended.]
But I won't ask anything else. Nothing that isn't directly related to her.
@CanadianCryptic That was your fault. It wouldn't, though.
[They can't help but be surprised that he's even considering it.]
I've gotten statements from other avatars. Being compelled can be weird, but it doesn't hurt.
@earstoeyes [Charlie manages not to snort, but the expression on their face says it all. Somewhere between sheepish and smug.]
Come on now, you seem more clever than that.
@earstoeyes [Charlie watches with amusement, enjoying watching someone puzzle things out.]
Pain is involved in all three, but the Slaughter is the one that focuses on physical pain the most. Desolation is usually centered on emotional pain. The Hunt is more interested in the chase.
@earstoeyes Well, they're both fairly self-explanatory as well. The Slaughter is exactly that - violence without cause, just for the sake of causing pain. The Corruption also goes by the Filth or the Hive, which might make it more obvious. Bugs, rot, filth, that sort of thing.
@earstoeyes From what I've heard, there's some variation, but it tends to have themes from man-made stuff. I tend to look for mentions of metal, computers, radiation, and reused trash.
@CanadianCryptic I'm well aware.
[Their sour tone disappears, and they seem to relax a bit.]
...for what it's worth, thank you. She would have found her way back eventually, but she got here a lot faster thanks to you.
@earstoeyes [They nod along.]
Correct. I'm almost certain that it does, but there are people who would disagree with me. I haven't interacted with it personally, at least not knowingly.
@earstoeyes Nice to meet you too. My name is Charlie Small. It seemed like you have some questions about the Entities? The PR manager doesn't tend to pass along specifics.
[There's an edge of annoyance in the last sentence, but not directed at Cyrus.]
