Petulant, childish and dishonest. The best communication strategy when an esteemed person disagrees with you, is not to attempt to tarnish their well documented achievements. It is futile and reflects your own lack of credibility. Audiences know it is a lie and so they start questioning everything you say.
Acknowledge the person's achievements and state why you think they are wrong on the particular issue on which you disagree. These "Hitler, Hamas, Jihadist," smears are stupid and have zero impact on the person at the receiving end of them. They do reflect badly on the credibility of those who utter them.
