I fucking love this place. A mecca of motorsport & music just 40 mins away from Brum. A place that has birthed icons iconic moments alike; where both Joey Jordison joined Metallica for a Download set & Ayrton Senna first stepped into an F1 car. #Donington#BTCC

U.S potential ban on TikTok is proof artists should always prioritise & channel marketing efforts toward building direct-to-fan comms.
Platforms aren’t always evergreen & come and go.
Emails/phone numbers haven’t gone anywhere, have no algorithm & are as relevant as ever.
Using these moments to develop PMF (Product market fit) & gauge where their fans are, how they consume/habits
Build & build the demand through good quality pieces of the bigger picture in the early days.
Establishing artists should be releasing good quality music, with strong brand identity, frequently but without degrading potential momentum / unplanned moments a release might have, giving new audiences easily consumable, bite sized art whilst a fanbase builds….
Quality and consistency do not need to be at odds. Both are possible at once. For many younger artists, the issue is the delivery format. Look, I love albums. But releasing one album every 9-12 months is suboptimal for fan-building or audience growth in the current environment.
fred has amazing intro/atmospheric sections in his music. He missed a massive trick not using those whenever he spoke to the crowd. The silent parts of the his set just didn’t feel right
