The world's most underrated spice for your health:
Cloves.
They lower inflammation more than turmeric, ginger and blueberries...
And even help regulate blood sugar and cholesterol.
Here are all their benefits (and the best way to use them): 👇
Cloves are dried flower buds from the clove tree (Syzygium aromaticum) native to Indonesia.
Unlike other spices that lose potency when dried...
Cloves concentrate their bioactive compounds - especially eugenol, the molecule behind most of their health benefits.
They're often called "nature's painkiller."
They're packed with polyphenols that fight inflammation at the cellular level:
- Free radical damage
- Chronic inflammation
- Cellular aging
And the research is stunning...
1. Superior Anti-Inflammatory Power.
Cloves outperform nearly every other food on the ORAC scale.
- 5x stronger than ginger
- 3x stronger than turmeric
- 2x stronger than blueberries
They block inflammatory pathways before they spiral out of control.
2. Blood Sugar Regulation.
Your pancreas struggles when blood sugar spikes constantly.
But clove compounds:
- Improve glucose uptake
- Enhance insulin sensitivity
- Stabilize blood sugar swings
In one study, just 1-3 grams daily reduced fasting glucose by 30% in 30 days.
3. Heart & Cholesterol Health.
Your arteries need protection from oxidative damage and plaque buildup.
How do cloves help?
- Raise HDL cholesterol
- Lower LDL cholesterol
- Prevent arterial inflammation
All without the muscle pain you might get from statins...
4. Digestive & Gut Health.
Ever feel bloated, gassy or uncomfortable after meals?
Cloves stimulate digestive enzymes and reduce gut inflammation naturally.
Most digestive aids can't do this.
Research shows they may help prevent ulcers and IBS symptoms.
5. Oral & Dental Health.
Cloves even kill oral bacteria directly.
This:
- Prevents cavities
- Reduces gum disease
- Eliminates bad breath
Dentists have used clove oil for tooth pain for centuries.
6. How much clove do you need?
Most studies show benefits at just 1-3 grams/day:
The key is consistency, not mega-dosing.
You can incorporate cloves into your routine through:
- Clove oil (diluted)
- Chai spice blends
- Whole cloves in tea
- Rice and curry dishes
- Ground cloves in coffee
- Clove powder in smoothies.
The Bottom Line:
Most people think spices are just for flavor...
But certain spices like cloves are some of the healthiest substances on the planet.
Real health is found in your nutrition.

INFLAMMATION IS THE ROOT OF ALL MODERN SICKNESS
We live in an age where almost everyone is battling one sickness or the other.
— High blood pressure.
— Diabetes.
— Arthritis.
— Asthma.
— Cancer.
— Even depression.
Different names. Different symptoms.
But if you dig deeper, there’s one common enemy running through them all: inflammation.
What is inflammation?
It is your body’s defense system.
When you get a cut, or a virus enters your body, inflammation rushes in to protect and heal.
That kind of inflammation is good — short, sharp, and necessary.
The problem starts when inflammation doesn’t turn off.
When it stays on, day after day, quietly burning your tissues, blood vessels, and organs.
That is what we call chronic inflammation.
And it is the fuel behind most modern diseases.
Think about it:
— In the heart, chronic inflammation stiffens arteries → leading to hypertension and heart disease.
— In the pancreas, it damages cells → leading to diabetes.
— In the joints, it eats away at cartilage → leading to arthritis.
— In the brain, it disrupts chemical balance → linked to depression and Alzheimer’s.
— In the immune system, it triggers chaos → leading to autoimmune diseases.
— In the liver, it causes scarring → leading to fatty liver disease and cirrhosis.
Different outcomes, one root.
So where is all this inflammation coming from?
Look closely at daily life:
— Junk food loaded with sugar and seed oils.
— Alcohol and smoking.
— Chronic stress that never ends.
— Poor sleep, night after night.
— Sedentary lifestyle, no movement.
— Environmental toxins — from plastics to polluted air.
Each one may look “normal” in our generation, but together, they keep the fire of inflammation burning.
And when the fire doesn’t stop, sickness multiplies.
Here’s the good news:
If inflammation can be triggered by lifestyle, it can also be healed by lifestyle.
— Eat real food: vegetables, healthy fats, lean protein.
— Cut out refined sugar, seed oils, and processed junk.
— Sleep like your health depends on it, because it does.
— Move daily, even if it’s just walking.
— Manage stress: breathe, rest, disconnect from chaos.
— Support your liver and gut, your biggest defense against toxins.
Healing doesn’t come from silencing symptoms.
It comes from cooling the fire.
Because at the end of the day, inflammation is not just “a medical term.”
It is the silent spark behind the sicknesses crippling our generation.
Cool the fire.
Rebuild your health.
And take your body back from the flames.

You can’t overeat meat.
You can’t overeat eggs.
Why?
Because real food carries satiety intelligence.
Protein and fat tell your brain “enough” long before your plate is empty.
That’s why after 2 eggs and some beef, you feel satisfied, no craving, no endless chewing.
Try that with rice, bread, biscuits, noodles, you’ll keep eating like a bottomless pit, because processed carbs switch off the “I’m full” signal.
They confuse your hormones and hijack your brain.
Your body knows meat and egg are nutrient-dense. It knows when to stop. That’s why obesity didn’t come from eggs or goat meat, it comes from sugar, flour, seed oil, and chemical cubes pretending to be seasoning for food.
So stop fearing eggs.
Stop blaming meat.
Fear the foods that make you unable to stop eating.
Those are the real killers.

Earlier this year, I got a gig that was way above my skillset. I panicked but took the job. I convinced the client that the job would be nothing short of perfect. Then, I began to pray daily for the Spirit of wisdom and grace for diligence in this work. I used Bezalel and Oholiab as references to God in my prayers and held on to Philippians 4:13 as my mantra.
Long story short, after the job was done, the client was so impressed, he called me aside, told me I was due for a bonus and then gave me a cash bonus of $300.
Three nights ago, as I was rounding off my prayers, the Lord brought the story of Gideon to my mind, it was unexpected as I hadn’t studied the book of Judges since last year. What followed was an unexpected exposé. As I pondered on the story of Gideon, I thought to myself, “You know what I find most fascinating about the story of Gideon? Its how the least person from the weakest clan in one of the smallest tribes would blow a trumpet and 32000 men would come running. What sort of magic was that?”
Here is what the Spirit laid in my heart as a response. “I know its a popular saying that God doesn’t only call the qualified but qualifies the Called. But that’s not all. He bestows upon the Called, the grace that qualifies him for the calling.”
God’s grace is often said to come in two dimensions; His saving grace and His enabling grace. His enabling grace empowers us to do His will. In Judges 6:34, Scriptures explains to us how Gideon was empowered with enabling grace to have such influence over the 32,000.
It says “But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him.”
He had such influence because the Spirit of the Lord came upon Him. So, clearly, a man can obtain grace from God to outperform the best version of himself.
It is the will of God that we prosper and excel in the assignments we find in our hands but our struggles and failures can be largely attributed to our failure to obtain grace to do those things.
So, if you’re currently struggling in your career, studies, relationship, marriage, in parenthood and even in your spiritual life, learn to go back to Him and ask for a bestowal of grace. Grace to do and be all that He has called you to do and be.
The writer of Hebrews encourages us to come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. And aren’t we always in times of need?
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” - II Corinthians 12:9
