1. Both apps include a demo of Séraphin Couvreur’s DICTIONNAIRE CLASSIQUE DE LA LANGUE CHINOISE (chinois-français), a reference dictionary for example sentences and their sources. For now, the demo includes 300+ characters with most example sentences.

2. After 15 years of existence, most versions need to be re-written, mainly for technical reasons: evolution of development tools, cleanup the software. The current target is beginning 2024 (Apple) and mid-2024 (Windows).

Due to various constraints, some major display issues of @SmartHanzi and #DDBAccess with macOS Ventura were not identified. They are now fixed. As much as possible, new versions will be thoroughly tested in time. It is reminded that feedback is always welcome.

CBP can segment Chinese texts for input in text analysis programs. The new version has selectable dictionaries: for Classical Chinese, this avoids recognizing modern words from standard dictionaries.
