G¥nmen Strike Again on Oyo Highway, K+ll Two in Fresh Kishi-Igbeti Att@ck
Fear has gripped residents of Oyo State’s Oke-Ogun zone following fresh att@cks by suspected bandits along the Kishi-Igbeti and Igboho-Igbeti road corridors, leaving atleast two persons de@d and several others injred within 24 hours.
The latest incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday along the Kishi-Igbeti road when g¥nmen ambushed a moving vehicle and opened f+re. An electricity worker identified as Moshood Kayode, popularly known as “Mr. Kay,” and one other were k+lled, while other occupants sustained inj¥ries.
On Saturday, another att+ck was reported along the Igbope-Igbeti axis near the Old Oyo National Park. Eyewitnesses said heavily armed men dressed in military camouflage suddenly emerged from the forest and began sh++ting at passing vehicles around 3:25 p.m.
Among the vehicles att@cked were a red Volkswagen Golf and a commercial passenger bus, whose tyre was punctured by b¥llets. Four occupants of the Golf car, including the driver, Alhaji Rafiu Jimoh, and one Jubril Jelili, sustained serious g¥nshot wo¥nds while travelling from Igbeti to Saki.
Despite their inj¥ries, the victims reportedly managed to drive back to Igboho, where they were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
“We thought they were soldiers because of the camouflage they wore, but they suddenly started shooting at vehicles,” an eyewitness recounted.
Security personnel, including operatives of the police, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps and local forest guards, were deployed to the scene and later secured the area.
The att@cks have intensified concerns over growing insecurity around the Old Oyo National Park, which residents allege has become a hideout for k+dnappers and armed gangs.
Residents are now calling for urgent military and police operations to flush out criminal elements and restore safety along the troubled road corridors.
When will Peter Obi stop telling lies? He lied that 10 Downing Street has 3 rooms.
But the facts remains that 10 Downing Street is approximately 100 rooms. Lol 😆
Good morning ooh
@Kingrichards_@emmaikumeh First of all there are no three bedroom
And it'll be interesting to know more about the combined complex seems most PM prefers that one
"I'm not given to emotional argument. The World Bank report that was released two days ago, that says what the President has done economically, is that a half-truth? The S&P report that was released, is that a half-truth? World Bank MD came to Nigeria and said that the economic reforms of President Tinubu has become a case study globally... I keep wondering where are they getting their own information? — Analyst Obafemi George
The restructuring by Tinubu flys over everyone’s head because Nigerians are not that smart after all and don’t know what their real problem is. That’s why I laugh so hard when people say Obi is not good enough and then his supporters say “who is better” 😆
You are not the president yet but you are already saying you will release criminals.
We need to remind ourselves that Nnamdi Kanu was duly convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction
@Oredola_Iam@Official_Isaaco If you're not stupid and uninformed you should know that ipob has been designated a terrorist organisation long before the current administration
I have met a lot of people that voted Peter Obi the last time and will be voting PBAT next year.
I have also met a lot of people that voted Peter Obi last time but will sit out this election because Peter Obi hasn’t been as inspiring as he was in 2023 and they do not consider the alternatives as better.
I haven’t met a single PBAT supporter that is now supporting Peter Obi or any other candidate( this is my reality)
I believe this administration hasn’t lived up to certain hype but I cannot deny that it’s been reform minded. Helping correct structural issues that have plagued this country far too long.
For example, the recent passage of the state policing bill is by no means a mean feat. That this administration makes it look easy or don’t blow their trumpet so loudly does not diminish the huge significance of the bill and the tireless work that they put into it.
The implementation of the Nigeria Payments System Vision 2028 ( championed by CBN) is another policy that has gone under the radar(I believe we should all read about the policy) . This is one policy that will revolutionize our financial system for good. One that will birth several financial innovation and products. There is no eradication of poverty without financial inclusion and it appears CBN is on an articulated agenda towards a sustainable path.
For some of us, there are enough reasons to stick around this current administration. The alternatives aren’t as inspiring and simply do not have what it takes to out perform this current administration.
