Nairobi is very vibrant, with so many tech hubs and people building everywhere.
Here at @Web3Clubs, I witnessed @BasedKago talk about his product @SmartShambani, Africa's First ML search engine for crop and livestock advisory.
@BasedKago shares his vision for this tech!

Eddie Kago’s ( @BasedKago ) session gave a look into building technology around actual everyday problems, @SmartShambani a search engine for crops, and livestock advisory.
He walked us through the thinking behind SmartShamba and how location based insights can help farmers make better decisions around crops and livestock.
A big part of the session focused on infrastructure, trust, and why verification matters in areas like agricultural credit across African markets.
Eddie also shared lessons from his experience working across ecosystem growth, decentralised infrastructure, and product development.
One thing that stood out throughout the session was the importance of building with context.
Understanding the environment, the users, and the real problem first before rushing into the technology itself.
Meaningful products usually start with understanding people well.

Mr. Kampon's mother bought the land in 1954 with plans to grow mangoes, coconuts and oranges. After travelling abroad and seeing what others were doing with the full potential of their land, she changed course entirely.
72 years later, Nong Nooch spans 640 acres of rolling hills and valleys. It holds over 1,500 palm species, a world-class cycad gene bank that conservation agencies rely on for preserving one of the planet's most endangered plant groups, an extraordinary bromeliad collection, orchids, bonsai, and themed gardens inspired by Versailles that draw researchers, tourists and botanists from across the world.
There is a dedicated research center, a resort, and millions of visitors walking through every year, contributing actively to the preservation of plant species that exist almost nowhere else on earth.
...From land that was supposed to be an orange farm.
When a farmer asks "what is this land truly capable of?", I'd like to offer them https://t.co/jY1uQfcSJE as the bridge between that question and a vision like Nong Nooch.
IMO, SmartShamba is the right entry point. Free to use. Enter your location, farm size and crop interest, and get crop-to-climate-to-soil suitability back.
The Tansacha family had decades to discover what their land could become. We want that clarity available on day one.

In true farmer fashion, Mr. Kampon gifted me a 2027 calendar on the way out.🤣
Have you visited such a place? Do you think someone starting today can achieve something similar, in today's world? Which tools and tech?
My take is that https://t.co/jY1uQfcSJE is the right tool to get anyone started. Here's my search and results on SmartShamba.
Less than 30 seconds. no cost.
